Backstory: The Gore family was well-established in Nîmes, France, and they were known for holding power among minor government officials due to their money and reputation. The family patriarch was Remy Gore, with his sons Sebastien, Raine, and Felix as the potential heirs to the family’s fortune. They held power in France due to their massive success in their nightclub, EXO, which was established in the late 1800s. Their club EXO was initially named Le Champagne, hosting cabaret and burlesque shows before changing their club name to EXO in the 1980s. From the success, the family was able to make connections with other families around France, partially the Lavigne family, by the early 1900s.
The Lavigne family introduced the Gore family to a new concept to build their empire into a stronger one. The Lavigne family was a famous jewelry store with a dark story—a cover-up for the red market. The patriarch of the Lavigne family, Gerald, met with the patriarch of the Gore family Jacques to introduce the idea of human trafficking. Interestingly, Jacques Gore didn’t take much convincing to use his club Le Champagne as a front for human trafficking. From the early 1900s, the club was able to prosper into a world-renowned spot in France. Celebrities and politicians worldwide would attend the club to engage in the club’s drinks and entertainment. However, some sinister politicians would indulge the human trafficking victims.
By the time Felix’s father, Remy took over the club, the club had expanded from France to other European countries. His other family would control those other clubs, while his family would govern the club in France. Due to his birth order, Felix was not destined to take control of the club since he was the family’s youngest son and middle child. This would cause resentment toward his other brothers, especially toward Sebastien, the oldest son. His older brother would receive the most attention from their father and be spoiled with gifts and money, while Felix fought every waking day to earn his father’s respect.
As Felix grew up in his youth, he befriended his father’s bodyguard and learned underground boxing. Felix would work as an underground boxer, earning money from bets and tournaments. Felix’s success in the boxing ring would lead to his father finally giving him the attention he craved for the last few years. Alas, it would last for less than a year, as Sebastien would marry his partner, and his wife would be pregnant with a son. Felix grew devastated, for he wanted to prove he was worthy of his father’s attention and deserved a chance to run the club. There were rumors in the family that his father, Remy, would step down as the club owner and pass it down to his brother Sebastien.
By the time Felix turned 18, his fear was becoming a reality. Sebastien was now 25, married, and had his first-born son, Dion. Their father, Remy, decided it was time for Sebastien to hold power; therefore planned a family reunion. Felix’s mental state began to unravel and swirl into chaos as he realized he was running out of time. He knew if Sebastien were to become the club owner, his efforts would’ve gone down the drain. All he wanted was to prove to his father he was wrong and that he was the rightful heir to the club. Felix was sacrificing his life for the family, as he was destined to marry Céline Lavigne, the heir to Lavigne’s fortune.
Felix didn’t think it was fair, so he brought it up to his fiancé Céline. She knew Felix’s fear of not controlling the club, so she devised a plan: during the family reunion, Felix would set the house on fire, and by proxy, he would be the owner. Céline wanted to exploit Felix’s hidden pyromania, which she discovered when she caught Felix lighting up makeshift bombs when he was 15. Felix didn’t want to follow through with the plan; he wanted his sister Ameline to be safe from the fire. However, Céline dismissed it. She claimed if any family was to survive, they could testify against him. This would feed into his unstable mentality, and he agreed with the plan.
On the day of the family reunion, Felix disappeared during dinner to plant his small explosives around the house, and by the time dessert was being handed out, Felix lit the explosives. From afar, he saw the house get blown up into pieces, and the flames engulfed the house. The screaming from his family could be heard around the neighborhood, and to this day, Felix swore he saw his little sister Ameline run away with her body on fire. When the firefighters came to help with the fire, Felix performed and cried for his family. Céline’s fortune helped hush the detectives to state it was a faulty wire and nothing else.
A week later, the funeral for his family was held, and Felix felt guilty. Regardless, Céline ensured it was nothing to feel guilty about, as he was now the club’s operator and ring. A meeting would be held with the other influential club members, and Felix was the rightful owner by proxy. Felix controlled the club’s operations and underground human trafficking ring for years since he was 18. Unfortunately, by turning 20, he ceased working at EXO in France and transferred to EXO in Manchester, Britain.
He would meet the infamous Brandon Peters and become infatuated with him there. Due to Felix’s priorities being the club first, he broke off the engagement between him and Céline to be with Brandon. This would lead to years worth of the Lavigne family wanting revenge against the Gore family due to Felix breaking the promised engagement and Céline wanting revenge against him. However, due to Felix’s reputation and power, he remains untouchable until, one day, he messes up. Meanwhile, Felix continues to operate the club and the underground ring with his partner, Bachelor and indulges in explosives and fire.
