Troy Martin Tantalus is the older brother of Trench Tantalus, and an assassin for hire from Blackreef sister island, Darktide Island. He loves his brother with all his heart, and generally hates Zalgo for taking his lil bro. Honing his mind, body and weapons, Troy has also had his fair share of scars from battle on Darktide.
Origins[]
Born from scientist John Tantalus and an "anonymous mother" (Helen Serling, the bish from Trench's story), Troy was soon metaphorically cast aside by his mother as she soon gave birth to his younger brother(by like, ten seconds), Trench. Soon Trench began to develop powers thanks to Blackreef's unnatural energy field, which gave Troy the hope of powers as well. Alas, he did not. When Zalgo came to Blackreef by invitation of Troy's mother Helen, cause she's a fanatical devotee (and bish), Troy was on a research mission on Blackreef's twin island, Darktide Island. Troy hurried as soon as he could, but encountered Zalgo's entourage of proxies and minions. He attempted to break through their blockade, but was placed on the brink of death. But, before they could deal the killing blow, something happened. As it so happened, Troy did indeed have powers; the intricate knowledge of every fighting technique. And since he HAD been playing Tekken a lot, Zalgo's blockade of loyal proxies learned something new that day: they knew what it means to be on the edge of fatality.
Troy made it to his family's house, but saw no sign of his little twin brother. Only a wounded John Tantalus, and a Helen Serling, weeping in joy of her master's words of approval upon Zalgo's departure. Troy's father banished Helen from Blackreef, and cared for the young Troy alone well until his son was the ripe age of 18. There, Troy told his father of his quest to search for and bring his brother home. John, not wanting to lose another member of his family, pleaded to his teen son to reconsider. But Troy was ever adamant, and refused to back down. Knowing this, John took his son into his workshop, gave him some risky bio implants, and sent him to Darktide to hone his combat skills. In just a few long months, Troy had become the most efficient and lethal weapon in all of Blackreef and Darktide combined. Before leaving the islands and into the mainland of America, his father gave him two more gifts to help him on his quest: a canteen implanted into his spine to increase his movement to sightless speeds, and a robot kitty cat laser turret to place on his shoulder in the heat of battle.
With these gifts, combined with his months of training and obsidian kunai, Troy left for America. Eventually he became an assassin for hire, and was a big name on the black market. This would lead him to be sought out by MurderCo. LLC's only two employees, Genocidal Ray and Jackknife. He accepted their request, and was catapulted into legend... Of his own making, although he did manage to find Trench after like 5 years.
Trivia[]
- Troy is somewhat of an alcoholic, but doesn't like being on a hangover. This lead him to surgically removing his own liver and having MurderCo. LLC and Trench to replace it with a tank that converts alcohol into nutrients.
- He has named his cat turret Dazai and his Overcharge Canteen Kunikuda.
- His signature move is to only unsheathe a part of his Orchid katana with his eyes closed, and waits until his target's body slides off in half. He got this idea from watching old samurai movies and accomplishes this in part thanks to his Overcharge Canteen.
- As an employee of MurderCo. LLC, Troy is diligent in his work and often rewards himself and his fellow workers with a six pack of Corona beer.
- Ever since he found his little twin brother Trench, Troy has let him stay in his large apartment that he rented with his earnings on the black market/job.
Quotes[]
- "The day I break contract is the day get killed on the job. Which is, oh I don't know, HIGHLY UNLIKELY" - Troy listing off one of his "standards"
- "有時,事情必須死。如果它不死,那麼它 是值得生活的。(Sometimes, things must die. If it doesn't die, then it is worthy of living)" - Troy regarding his philosophy on life and death
- "Aight, fair enough" - Troy's words of agreement/admitting someone's right in an argument
