Adrian Fukunaga, known as The Mad Ghoul, is the main antagonist of the Creepypasta story Wounded, which you can find here and here.
Appearance[]
Adrian has black hair, a red left eye, pale gray skin, retractable black claws, and razor-sharp teeth. His empty right eye socket glows with the red light of the Ruby Bloodstone inside it. He wears a black suit jacket, a black vest, a white dress shirt, a black tie, black dress pants, and black dress shoes, all of which are sometimes but not always covered in the blood of his victims.
Personality[]
Adrian has a fondness for human males, especially ones that remind him of his boyfriend. He hates other ghouls because they remind him of the monster he has become. He especially hates the ghoul Slater for biting him, turning him into a ghoul, and killing his boyfriend before that. Adrian regrets the terrible things he has to do to satiate his hunger and wishes that everything that led to him becoming a monster and ruining his life had never happened.
Still, he knows feeding on others is necessary to keep the rapid decay of cells in his body from destabilizing and killing him. Even knowing this, Adrian will try to hold back, but sometimes, his hunger is too strong and causes him to lose control and go mad. When he's in control of his hunger and madness he can be stoic and or brooding except when in the presence of someone he likes. He smokes Marlboro brand cigarettes and drinks red wine, which are habits he took up after the murder of his boyfriend at the hands of Slater.
He keeps a mental shrine to his boyfriend, keeping his memory alive, so his hunger and madness don’t take over completely. Most of the time, he stays in or near the alleyway where he was turned into a ghoul, seeing it as his territory. He will sometimes venture out beyond the borough of Manhattan and further into New York City, but does so rarely.
Origins[]
Adrian’s mother was an American exchange student living in Tokyo. While she was at university, she met and fell in love with a man named Hideo Fukunaga. After a few years of being together, they eventually got married and gave birth to Adrian. The three of them lived together in a house in Nerima, Tokyo, Japan, for most of Adrian’s childhood. During those years, they spoke only Japanese. When Adrian was a teenager, they moved to America and got a home in the New York City borough of Manhattan. While they were living there, Adrian was homeschooled by his mother and taught to speak English.
When he turned 18, Adrian got his GED and moved out of his parents’ place and into his own apartment. A year later, he met and fell in love with a guy named Christian Taylor, and the two started dating. When Adrian turned 21, he and Christian went out to a bar at night to celebrate. Adrian had bought a black suit and tie for the occasion. On their way back to Adrian’s apartment, they decided to take a shortcut down an alleyway. Little did they know that a ghoul had made that particular alleyway his territory. The ghoul introduced himself to the couple as Slater.
Before either of them could react, Slater attacked and killed Christian, then turned his sights on Adrian. The two got into a struggle, resulting in Slater ripping out Adrian’s right eye with his bare hands. Slater wore a red jewel necklace that he used to momentarily hypnotize Adrian before biting his shoulder. The bite caused a rapid decay of cells in his body, but soon the decay stabilized, and Adrian became the ghoul he is now. As soon as his transformation into a ghoul had been completed, Adrian pounced on Slater and ripped his throat out, presumably killing him.
He then yanked the necklace off Slater's neck and put the red jewel in his empty eye socket, picked up Christian's body, walked out to Central Park, and buried him. When Adrian returned the next night, Slater’s body was gone. As Adrian mourned for the loss of his humanity and his boyfriend, he made the alleyway and surrounding area his hunting grounds, using the power of the red jewel known as the Ruby Bloodstone to put his victims into a trance, allowing him to feed on them whenever his hunger takes control. Adrian realized later that the ghoul Slater had been using the gem's power to do the same thing.
