Height: 6' 3"
Eye Color: Black in place of white; brown irises
Skin Color: Pale Ivory/ Ghostly pale
Hair Color: Mouse Brown
Interests:
- Firearms
- Tall Tales
- Ranching and rodeoing
- Raising ravens in his flock
Fears:
- Exorcism
- Being overpowered by numbers- large groups make him paranoid as he was murdered in front of a mob
- Reliving his death via nightmares/ Flashbacks
- Betrayal
Special items:
- His bloodied noose made out of a strong piece of rope that worked its way into his neck.
- Has a messenger/ guardian raven that he grew accustomed with whom he named Lenore. He also has a symbiotic relationship with Lenore's flock because in exchange for the food provided by the corpses of his victims, they watch over his town like a pair of eyes.
- Has a revolver strapped to his hip in a hoister. It's a five round model and he uses it as an alternate weapon.
- Carries a pocket watch with a picture of his wife, his daughter and him inside the lid of the pocket watch.
Powers/Abilities:
- Transparency
- Possession
- Object Manipulation (This isn't as strong as a poltergeist's grip on objects but it's enough so he can keep ahold of his rope and revolver and use objects as cover.)
- Teleportation (This is for only a short distance- about 100 yards or so at most)
- Invisibility as a ghost
Weaknesses:
- Exorcist Items
- Spiritual attacks
- Physical attacks when solid
- Children and women
- Necromancy- related magics/abilities
- His Aquamarine soul gem- if this breaks, he's forced to move on into the afterlife due to it being the reason he's in limbo between this world and the afterlife. The soul gem is a soul solidified and it's Aquamarine to show that he was born in March as all soul gems are the birthstones of the restless spirit's birth month.
- Salt Circles- Which to popular belief, keeps hostile spirits at bay if a person creates the circle around them.
- When he's linked up to Lenore, as rare as this is, he can get inflicted with the pain she feels if the raven gets injured. This can cause damage to his gem due to them being psychically bonded.
- Is bound to Hendricks Post's land
Strengths:
- Slight immunity to holy objects (which is that he can be touched with holy symbols and only feel a burning sensation rather than a flat out painful shock)- This immunity came from him being around a priest shortly before his death in life since his brother-in-law was the town's pastor. He was found by the pastor and town doctor unconscious in his home after his wife was murdered and was being taken care of before Andrew was arrested.
- Solidification at will
- Transparency at will
- Can use objects as a weapon with his abilities of object manipulation within the towns limits
Weapons:
- Usually uses the noose around his neck to snap the necks of his victims or suffocate them until they are dead. Most of the time, the victims don't usually know what hits them as he usually attacks when they least expect it and gets taken by surprise as they struggle and thrash around.
- A late 1800's five-shooter revolver- this is his alternate weapon. It only does damage when he's solid so, if he's invisible, the victim would only hear the gunshot and take no damage. If he's solid and in view, he can do damage with the revolver but he also has the chance of being hit as well.
How He kills/wounds in Combat:
- Usually uses the noose around his neck to snap the necks of his victims or suffocate them until they are dead. He does this as a stealth move most of the time.
- Sometimes uses his gun in times where his noose is out of reach or torn away from his grip. The bullets do damage only when he is solid.
Background[]
Brief Backstory:
- Childhood: Born on March 17th, 1843 in Goldfield, Arizona; raised on a ranch near his hometown and grew up with his elder brother John. Andrew was the youngest in the family and out of two boys. Andrew also meets Daniel Cullen at a young age and they become best friends.
- Adolescence: In his early teens, Andrew moves out from the family ranch and travels with Daniel by train to the town of Hendrick’s post. Both meet Lois Burns who was a wealthy rancher outside of Hendrick’s Post and gives both of them the job of being ranch hands with the cattle. They settled into the town shortly afterwards when they earned enough money.
- Adulthood: Andrew and Daniel fell for a newcomer named Amelia Gold when she moved into the town with the new priest and her brother Reverend Birdland Gold. After a year or so of courting from both suitors, Amelia chose Andrew over Daniel and the two men due to this became rivals. Later on, Amelia and Andrew got married and both had a daughter shortly afterwards. Several years past and on the night leading up to Andrew being hanged, Daniel knocked out Andrew, shot Amelia and then proceeded to shoot the sheriff with Andrew’s revolver. Allison (who is the Colt’s daughter) was staying with Reverend Gold at the time of the murders due to Amelia suffering from sickness due to her second pregnancy. Andrew got arrested and was sentenced to the gallows under false accusation of the two murders. He died on October 23, 1872 at age 29.

Misc Information[]
Notes:
- His neck was broken during his hanging so sometimes to get the noose around his neck or take it off, Hangman has to dislocate his neck first. It doesn't hurt but causes some discomfort.
- His tongue has a blue tint to it due to the lack of oxygen when he was suffocating to death.
- His whites of his eyes are black to show the wounds he got during his hanging- the blood vessels burst and bled in the whites of his eyes as he died slowly of lack of oxygen. (Yes, usually they are bloodshot but, as the creator, I decide to up the creepy factor and made them black)
- He has the rope embedded into his neck and has the rope burns from struggling as he was hung. He also has blood around his neck due to the constant rubbing of the skin raw.
- Tear ducts of the eyes and corners of the mouth are dripping blood due to him spitting up blood from his mouth and the blood bursting from his tear ducts as he suffocated to death
- His victims are mainly men who have "sinned"- Men who beat their wife and kids, men who cheat, and men who kill...etc. He might, though, spare a man if he is a father to a child with no other parent or the child is present. This also comes along if the man is engaged or married happily.
- His purpose of coming back from the dead is originally, he came back from the dead to kill Daniel Cullen. This was a man who murdered his wife then the sheriff and then pinned the crimes onto him. He also was angry at the deputy and his goons for not believing his innocence. and they were his first victims. Daniel came later but it was hard to track him down since he fled the town shortly after his execution.
- Still retains his Southern accent and charm and will be polite to strangers...until you provoke him.
- Was married to a woman named Amelia Gold and had a daughter but his wife was murdered by his best friend turned rival Daniel Cullen. Hangman was then framed for the murder of Hendrick's Post's sheriff later that eventful night and was hung the next day. Daughter's name was Allison Colt.
- He had a friend named Daniel Cullen who became his rival after the strife between the two men over the love of Amelia.
- He still wears the workmen clothes he died and was buried in.
- Has a soft spot for children- he won't harm them and will even protect them if they are in harm's way. This also is a weakness due to the fact that he might not kill his victim if the victim is a father to a child with no other parent or the child is present. This also goes for his attitude towards women.
- Despite the ability of going into an "invert" state of rest to regain his lost energy whilst using his powers, he chooses not to due to the constant nightmares of reliving his death and the painful memories of losing his family.
- He has a symbiotic relationship with a flock of ravens who stay in his old town. In turn of feasting on the corpses of the Hangman's victims, they will watch over his town and him for any signs of trouble. Almost like a second pair of eyes.
