Bio[]
BACKSTORY: She was created in Germany in the year 1855 where the age of porcelain dolls peaked. Her creator was named Alois Bachmann, Alois was a popular doll creator however he was also known for his dark secret job. There was a rumor on the streets of Germany that he was a murderer, particularly towards little girls. Nevertheless, he was still a popular doll creator, in which many parents purchased most of his dolls. Alois had named a doll, “The Doll Queen” mainly because to him, she was the most beautiful doll he had created, and knew there was something special towards her.
A young girl named Bertha was turning five years old and had wanted her very own porcelain doll. She grew tired of owning only rag dolls and knew she was capable of taking care of a porcelain doll. So, her parents took her down the streets of the town they lived in. They passed by Alois’ doll store, in which Bertha found one of the most beautiful dolls she had seen. She forced her parents to come into the store, even though her parents felt uneasy with Alois’s presence.

Meanwhile, Bertha took a look at “The Doll Queen” and fell in love with the doll. While it was expensive, her parents bought it for her as her birthday present. Before she left with the doll, Alois warned her that she was indeed very special and that she will need lots of attention.
He gave her a crooked smile as he waved bye. Bertha knew she was going to follow the rules since she deeply loved the doll. She decided to name “The Doll Queen” to Bernadette. Her and Bernadette would always play around with tea parties, then she would always brush her hair and sing songs. To her, Bernadette was the best friend she always wanted.
Then the school year started to begin, and Bertha grew sad. She wanted to be with Bernadette every second of her life, but her mother reassured her that Bernadette was going to be taken care of well. Bertha trusted her and went off to school. However, her mother did not keep her promise. In fact, she felt very uneasy with the doll, so she kept it on top of the wardrobe, and continued with her chores.
Before Bertha was to come home, her mother went to go get the doll, however, it had disappeared. Her mother grew worried because now she had lost the doll. She looked everywhere for the doll until Bertha came home. When Bertha asked for her doll, her mother told her it would appear somewhere, since it decided to play hide and seek. Bertha decided to go seek the doll and found it underneath her bed. Her mother again grew uneasy with the doll, since she felt like the doll was staring deep in her eyes.
So, she left her daughter’s room to fix dinner. When Bertha was alone, the doll looked at her, and Bertha saw that her mouth moved. Shocked in fear, Bertha looked at the doll. The doll began to speak and told her that her mother did not care for her, she left her on top of the wardrobe, so she moved to find Bertha. Bertha was shocked because now her doll can speak!
The doll smiled at her and moved her arm to touch Bertha’s face. Since then, Bertha and her doll Bernadette would always whisper to each other every day and even in the middle of the night. Her parents would always hear her talking to someone, which scared them so they took the doll away, hoping it would stop. However, whenever they tried to give the doll back, somehow Bertha would find it on her bed even though she didn’t even know where they kept her.
When Bertha would go to school, and her mother was alone with the doll, she could hear something moving and walking around. She would go and find what was it and would find the doll in a different place. Her mother was now a bit more scared, so she locked the doll in a chest. Then again, she would find the chest open, and this disturbed her. One day, Bertha decided to bring Bernadette with her at school to show her friends that her doll talks. However, when she reached school, her friends didn’t believe her. Bertha asked for Bernadette to speak but she kept silent.
Soon after, her friends began to call her a psycho and began to bully her. Bertha grew sad and when she returned home, she began to yell at her doll for not doing what she wanted her to do. The doll came to life and attacked Bertha. Bernadette whispered at her that she will not be controlled by her, but Bertha would be controlled by her instead.
Later Bernadette had Bertha under her control. Bertha would always have Bernadette with her including in school, where Bernadette would whisper to her what to do. This led to Bertha creating mischief in her house and in school. She would talk back to the teachers, talk back to her mother, rip papers and destroy the classroom, and throw tantrums in her house.
Her parents threatened to take away the doll, but she ended up biting her father. When her mother yelled at her why she did it, she began to scream that Bernadette told her too. She confessed that Bernadette talks to her into doing anything. Her father went to Alois asking why he created the doll, and Alois smiled at him.
Alois claimed that he created “The Doll Queen” after a dream he had with a she-demon, and that she-demon was one of his murdered victims. Her father grew terrified and screamed at him for killing little girls and cursed his family. Alois kicked her father out and closed down the shop. Bertha decided to lock the doll up and tried to live on without Bernadette.
However, as she got older, the doll continued to talk to her in her sleep and in her mind. When Bertha turned 12, she committed suicide because she gave in to Bernadette and Bernadette had told her to kill herself. Shocked in horror and grief, her parents gave the doll away to a shop.
There, Bernadette is waiting for another victim. As she lays on the shelf, she smirks waiting for another soul to claim.
