“ | You know something? I love this city. I love the people within it, always just being tough and whatnot. I love the friends I’ve made within its borders, and the relationship we have together. That, among other things, is why I don’t plan on leaving it anytime soon | „ |
~ Maggie says to her girlfriend Joy about the reasons why she likes the city of Philadelphia. |
Maggie Richter, nicknamed Strangle by her friend Wilson Broll, was a serial killer living within Philadelphia. She and her friends, the False Gang, helped to bring about “acts of peace” to their victims, until the year 2026. In that year, Maggie died of a heart attack due to a genetic condition she had at the time, causing great sorrow from their friends and especially her girlfriend, Joy Durham.
Story[]
Maggie was born in 2005 in Philadelphia. From the start of her life, it became clear that something was not right about her. She was unusually thin, and had long, thin fingers and toes. At two years old, Maggie was sent to the hospital after falling into a coma. The doctors discovered that she had a genetic disease called Marfan Syndrome, in which the connective tissue of her cells was mutated horribly. Maggie’s parents were also reminded that she was at risk for an array of heart problems in the future because of it.
Maggie eventually woke up from her condition, but was placed under strict supervision soon after. She was an automatic outcast at elementary and middle school alone because of her appearance, and it only worsened once she got into high school. At around that time, her parents were beginning to loosen up the rules within the family, due to her being the age in which she can take care of her self. Nonetheless, she was still an outcast outside the home.
Her parents were technicians and computer scientists, and thus Maggie was introduced to a little thing called hacking very early in her life. At the age of 18, she was able to get in and out of many protected web domains without getting caught. At high school she would always sit far from the building, laptop in tow, and literally practice her skills as a hacker from many prying eyes.
There was still some good instances in her life, though. At the beginning of freshman year, Maggie noticed another student, Joy Durham, chatting with some other students. Her curiosity got her to leave her table and ask if she would like to sit down next to them. They were more than happy to welcome her, because they too were people with unique things all of their own. This happened everyday the first week of freshman year until one of the students, Ivan Paul, decided that he knows someone who would absolutely like to be within their company: Wilson Broll. Broll, who had already met Maggie for information regarding one of his victims, was very happy to know that he was not alone, and that there were other students who had a hard time throughout their lives. After a series of lone serial killings, Maggie eventually found out that Broll was the sole cause of them, and because they were people who gave her a hard time, thanked him. He then went on to propose that all of them do what he does, in the name of peace. And thus the False Gang was born.
A few months later, Maggie was approached by Joy, who had admitted to having a crush on her. After a few minutes of awkward stuttering, Maggie asked if she was trying to ask if she would be Joy’s girlfriend. Joy said yes, to which Maggie said, absolutely. And so started a beautiful relationship.
On March 24, 2026, the two were walking in a forested area as part of a romantic date. Out of nowhere, Maggie’s heart stopped working, and collapsed onto the leaves. A horrified Joy called an ambulance and the False Gang, telling them that her girlfriend had collapsed. Despite the doctors best efforts, Maggie ultimately died a few hours later.
At her funeral, the False Gang agreed that their mission was over, because one of their members had died. They all agreed that they were to not see each other at all in person, as part of a way of hiding all the evidence of the gang’s involvement in the eight year killing spree. And thus it was agreed.
Appearance[]
Maggie was tall, thin, and pale-skinned. Her eyes were light blue, so light in fact, that upon first glance you could mistake her for a blind person. She had medium white hair as well. Her clothing is long and thin, just like her, mostly so that it fits her. When killing she’ll use abnormally long gloves for her fingers. She wore a heavy winter jacket with a hood, and wore a terrifying mask to cover her face. There is only one way she killed, and that’s through strangling her victims with her fingers.
Personality[]
Growing up under her parents’ protective wings, Maggie was often not allowed to be left alone, except for when she had school. Her time there and in her own neighborhood often consisted of people looking at her with fear. There were even instances of which she was outright bullied because of her condition. Because of this, Maggie stayed mostly indoors and learned most of what she knew from either being near her parents or reading as much as she could on a particular subject. She was pretty much just an antisocial shell. In high school, the bullying became more and more frequent, and Maggie began wishing ill will towards those who picked on her.
When Wilson Broll met Maggie in 2018, her personality slowly began to improve. She began to start standing up for herself and even fought back on a physical level most of the time. She started to want to go near crowded areas and large events more often. That’s not to say that these traits completely took over. Maggie did occasionally freeze up during certain situations, but other than that she really came out of her shell, thanks to her friends and girlfriend.

Notable Quotes[]
- “After a long year of trying to preserve the secrecy of the False Gang, I feel like we should all just take a break. You know, have a long road trip to someplace out of this time zone. Does that sound wrong, or at least against Broll’s wishes? Probably, but at least it’ll actually put his troubled mind to rest for a while”-To Joy Durham, explaining an idea that could potentially calm down their friend, who was very stressed out at this stage of his reign of terror.
- “My God, man. You have yourself an entire zoo down here!”-To Wilson Broll, about the amount of animals in his basement.
- “From one antisocial girl to another, I must say: I have a really bad feeling about the friendship between you too. Twenty bucks says one of you won’t try to kill each other in six months”-To Zero, doubting that the relationship between her and Wilson Broll will not last long.
- “Listen to that. The sounds of bones cracking as I choke the life out of you? Now that’s real ASMR to me!”-Maggie says while strangling one of her victims.
