Appearance[]

The Rose Parasite
The Rose Parasite appears to be a creature similar to a normal rose, except it has a singular eye in the center of the flower and multiple thorn-laden vines trailing behind the head. The six main vines are bigger than its other appendages and it is used in attack mode. Two leaves grow below the base of the head and nowhere else.
With Host[]
The Rose Parasite replaces the left or right eye of its host and many of its vines are seen poking in and out of the skin and growing in various parts of the body. The host can be the corpse of any living being, such as a rabbit or a human.
Behavior[]
The Rose Parasite will search for a host deep in its current home in the woods of Rivermouth Valley, Virconsinia. If desperate enough, it will target living creatures instead of fresh corpses.
With Host[]
Once the Rose Parasite has found a suitable host, it will go through the mouth and dig its vines through the veins and crevices of the body. It will also go through bigger holes present in the body, (like the impalement injury found on its current host). It will go through two modes: docile and attack.
> Docile Mode[]
The Rose Parasite will go through docile mode if it has not found any human prey (which is, most of the time). It displays a curious mind during this mode and will explore parts of the forest it has never been to.
> Attack Mode[]
The Rose Parasite will undergo attack mode if feeling threatened or has spotted a human prey. Three to four of the main vines will shoot out through the host's back and act as secondary legs or arms while chasing/running. The remaining main vines along with its smaller counterparts are used to latch onto the prey or as a defense mechanism when cornered.
Current Host[]

Ignore the shit quality.
The body of Leslie Blumenthal is the Rose Parasite's current host.
Appearance[]
Leslie wears a tattered dress stained with mud, dirt, and blood. Many injuries were hastily stitched together from the inside by the Rose Parasite using its vines, such as the right side of her lower jaw that was almost ripped away from the upper jaw as well as fractured spine, arm, and leg bones caused by the fall.
Cause of Death[]
While drinking too much spiked punch, Leslie lost her balance and fell of a cliff during her sister's wedding afterparty. She was then impaled by stalagmites on her way down. She was found by the Rose Parasite hours later and her injuries were then used as entry points into the insides of her body.
Origins[]
The Rose Parasite is not from its current world. In fact, it came from another universe (Earth LAI-11) where it accidentally fell through a mysterious crack and landed in a worn-down mansion. The mansion had several hosts perfect for the taking, until the owner showed up and chased the Rose Parasite away into the dense forest of Rivermouth Valley.
Earth LAI-11[]
The Rose Parasite and many others of its kind were accidentally created due to chemicals from bio-weapons used in the Great War of the dystopian Earth LAI-11. Its species and other plant abominations started the Overgrowth Era that caused the War to become a fight for survival. Together with other Parasites, they would possess the corpses of deceased soldiers and eliminate more survivors before it inevitably fell in Psemavros' mansion.

Psemavros' Mansion[]
The Rose Parasite fell into the deepest recesses of the mansion of Psemavros, where several brain-dead humans are kept as food. The Rose Parasite was about to climb into one of the bodies before the owner returned from their hunt and chased the plant away. It put up a good fight before Psemavros grabbed it with his many appendages and threw it (about 30 yards away) outside of his mansion. The Rose Parasite left sadly with not only a bruised head but a bruised ego as well.
Story[]
The forest of Rivermouth Valley was beautiful, yet haunting. In the daytime, the golden rays of the rising Sun would seep into the little crevices between the foliage of the pines and oaks that stood tall and proud above the rest. Their arms strived to reach to heavens, so close, yet so far and out of reach. At night, the atmosphere would become unwelcoming, overhanging branches held up by tall trunks casting harsh shadows onto the forest floor filled with shrubbery. The only source of light was the full moon, its gentle moonbeams bringing a bit of peace in contrast to the dark forest.
Many creatures have numerous opportunities and places to hide in the forest. Some find solace up above, others down below. Some dug further into the ground, giving way to numerous tunnel systems. Parasites however, relied on the body of another living being to survive.
This certain “parasite” was more akin to a plant than an animal. A rose, to be exact. And just like all living creatures, it fought to survive despite the unforgiving conditions of the cold, looming forest. Its days were outnumbered. The last host has rotted away due to lack of sufficient nutrients. It crawled and spread its roots, searching for another body to occupy. It was already nearing the cliffside, and alas there was not a body to take. It cannot continue living on the bodies of foxes and coyotes, it needed a real proper host. A human.
The parasite refused to accept defeat and face death. It latched itself onto the cliffside, following its path, hoping there would at least be a corpse for it to possess. Its singular eye fought to stay open, its roots staggering from exhaustion.
Luck seemed to have shined itself upon the little pest. The mangled body belonged to a young woman, her blonde curls in a disarray and blood staining her dirty white dress, flowing into the nooks and crevices of the rocks she fell on. The tired “parasite” struggled in freeing the fresh body from the stalagmite that impaled her heart, and others that pierced more parts along the way. After hours of work, it finally got a hold of the body as it started to dig its way inside of her. It was easier compared to other hosts due to the large hole in her stomach. Bones cracked as the “parasite” reorganized and pulled the body together again with its vines. It slowly removed her right eye and shimmied its head into the smaller and narrow eye socket.
Finally, the process is now complete.
This body will serve as its vessel for more years to come, until it inevitably rots away, just like the others that came before.
Trivia[]
Main Story[]
- Leslie was originally the main character instead of the Rose Parasite. She was also supposed to be resurrected.
- Leslie = "garden of holly" ; Blumenthal = "flower valley"
- The Rose Parasite was inspired by dreamcore and parasite horror.
Outside the Story[]
- Story, characters, and art made by Peeyoop.[1]
- This is part of some lore I'm working on.
- Most of the Parasites back at Earth LAI-11 returned to the soil where they are now known as Eye Flowers. The rest merged with a new species of humanoids that appeared after all humans were eradicated in the Overgrowth Era.
- There's others like Psemavros in other worlds (and yes he is aware of them as well).
- I am tired and if you are interested in the lore just friend my Discord user (eggtoast#4846) and I'll tell you.
