Story[]

Rena loved music. She always had ever since she first heard the grand scales of the piano in the first concert she attended when she was little. Ever since then, she devoted her life to mastering every instrument. She managed to play many instruments, some spectacularly, others decently, but her favourite was the violin.

Unfortunately for Rena, she was living in a time when women were expected to be nothing but loyal housewives for their husbands. As she got older, her parents tried to restrict her musical practice and be more of a 'lady'. This resulted in Rena often sneaking off to practise, much to the chagrin of her parents.

When Rena reached the age of 22, she was forced to meet many men, whom her parents called 'potential grooms'. Rena would always mutter that it was sad that these men could not just charm women into falling in love with them and had to force women into meeting them. One day, a handsome man did come, and after meeting, Rena admitted that she was a little charmed by his gentlemanly behaviour and infatuated by his good looks. After a few more meetings, with Rena's love for the man gradually increasing, both her and the man's parents arranged for them to get married.

It is sad for a woman to be forced to meet men until she falls in love with one, but it is sadder for that woman to fall for a man's facade. After the two were married, the man quickly showed the true monster he was. He didn't physically abuse Rena, but he constantly forced her into dresses she didn't want to wear, showed her off to his friends as if she was some kind of trophy. When Rena tried to get some private time to play the violin, he angrily smashed it into pieces, telling her to stop trying to be different from all the other women and that her only purpose was to please him, which left Rena in tears.

Despite all this, Rena had no one to tell. Her friends were all busy with their own lives and her parents wouldn't believe her. So she was forced to just bear the pain and look at the worse things her husband could have done and feel 'lucky' that he hadn't done them.

One night, as she sat on the balcony after another gruelling day, a man suddenly came to her. Startled, she demanded how he managed to break into the house, but the man avoided that question and asked if Rena wanted to play the violin again. Rena kept her mouth shut at first, but after much probing from the man, she gave in and admitted that she wanted to play the violin again. Upon hearing it, the man immediately gave her a red violin and an equally red bow, promising that the violin wouldn't break and that if it was faulty, she could wait by the balcony to return it.

Since her husband was out with his friends and Rena had locked their bedroom door to prevent the maids and servants from coming in, she decided to give the violin a shot. When she played it, it produced a marvellous sound that enraptured her heart immediately. Seeing that the violin was not at all faulty, she decided to keep it, not knowing that she had just unleashed something terrible.

The next day, reports of dead bodies came flooding in. The police were baffled as the victims were slaughtered in ways no man was able to do. Rena's husband got a little worried due to the killers potentially targeting their house next and told Rena to go to the bedroom. When Rena went to her bedroom, she found blood pooling under the bed, which was where she hid the violin. She looked underneath and pulled the violin out, discovering that blood was leaking out of it. A laugh was heard and Rena turned around, finding the same man who gave her the violin standing behind her.

"Thank you Rena Laurent, so many spirits wanted to taste freedom for at least one night, and you gave it to them for that one night. Sadly, we cannot use you anymore. The massacre is too much. But as thanks, I will allow you so stay here and see the world progress forever while you try and seek redemption for what you've caused."
