Mona Lisa, while not being a myth as it is defined, appears in several myth games as an easter-egg or motif. It is described as always seeming to be watching the player, however it has never been clear as to why she makes so many appearances.

Overview[]

Mona Lisa is described to be a painting of Lisa Gheraldini, the wife of Francesco del Giocondo.

History[]

Mona Lisa is a painting by Leonardo Da Vinci around 1503-1506, who then refined the artwork in the late 1517's for King Francis I of France.

One of the earliest myth games that have the Mona Lisa hidden somewhere in them is Blacksunday's place. It is unknown whether that was the first game that featured the painting, but after that it started appearing in other places as well, mainly the classics, such as the Cult Family, G0Z and several others, however newer myths such as Orenen have had the painting in their games too.

Behavior[]

The painting in most games doesn't harm the player in any way, as it's meant to be an easter-egg. However it is rumored to be put in myth games as symbolism that the owner of the game, or even the painting itself is always watching the player.

Trivia[]

  • The painting was originally made by Leonardo da Vinci.
  • In some games (and in reality), she is rumored to change her facial expression the more a viewer/player stares at the painting. She is supposed to either frown or smile.
