~ Nathan Dyer to Flynn Forest as he devour him. |
Nathan Dyer, also known as the Man In Woods, has spent decades living off the grid in a secluded forest. He was left behind by his brother and parents and was later on killed for a sacrifice to a creature, the Wendigo. His body has been replaced and was controlled by the creature using his body to terrorize and kill. Eventually, Nathan was able to break its hold on him and take control of his body again, becoming its host. Yet the creature has a forceful hold on him. He mostly remains in the woods, killing and eating hikers, campers, and seducing young women with his beauty.
Personality
Nathan is cold and calculating man. He rarely shows his emotions and prefers to keep his thoughts and feelings to himself. He's manipulative and narcissistic, using his intellect and charm to get what he wants. But not only his charm and intellect are his strengths, but he can also be extremely persuasive. His dishonesty and lack of moral compass make him a formidable opponent and difficult to trust. He can be difficult to read and often takes advantage of those around him. He may be successful in the short term, but his long-term prospects are uncertain. Angering him isn't a good idea, because his anger can lead to very dangerous decisions, such as killing the person brutally, eating them alive, or tormenting.
Origin
In the early years of Nathan's life, he had been an outsider after when his biological father committed a crime and was punished by death when he was still in his mother's womb yet married a single father who has a son. As Nathan was born, he often overlooked and had difficulty making friends. As long as he stayed away from trouble, his step-older brother, Noah, protected him from harm. It was because of this that Nathan was able to feel safe and secure in his environment, which allowed him to observe and learn from his brother without having to worry about being targeted because he was different from his brother.
When Nathan was playing with fire with his brother a while back, they were playing with an open flame. This protection from his older brother not only enabled Nathan to feel safe and secure but also to explore his interests without fear. Nathan was able to gain a better understanding of the world around him, including the dangers of playing with an open flame. Nathan was taught how to use fire by his brother. As a result of an accident that involved fire, Nathan was seriously injured. The cabin was accidentally lit up by Nathan by mistake. Nathan's brother tried to manage to get him out of the cabin after the fire broke out, but he sustained severe burns as a result.
Despite being engulfed in flames, Nathan was not able to be rescued because he was being burned alive. Therefore, he was left to die. The parent's thought Nathan was already dead, and they were grief-stricken. Nathan's brother was blamed for the accident and sent away. Luckily Nathan survived from saving himself from burning by the near lake but lost his memories due to the incident's trauma. He was never found by his family, but Nathan recovered from his injuries after being rescued and taken cared for by a leader of a cult called Bǫlverkr and a serial killer, Dyer.
Nathan spent the next few years living with the man and learning how to survive. The man taught him how to kill humans and eat them. (This traumatic event caused Nathan to suffer from amnesia, which meant that he did not remember his past or his family. This also meant that his family never knew that he was still alive, and Nathan was never reunited with them. He was forced to live in a dangerous and unfamiliar environment with a person he did not know, and he had to learn how to survive and protect himself.)
The man also told him about his god (Wendigo) who he served. Nathan found solace in the stories of it and eventually embraced the cult's philosophy, determined to become a powerful Wendigo himself. (Nathan began to believe that the creature was a being of great power and he wanted to be like him.) Nathan began to worship the creature and adopted the Wendigo philosophy, believing that it would give him power. But instead, the man who took care of him killed Nathan as a sacrifice. Nathan's death was in vain, and the creature never showed any signs of acknowledging him or his sacrifice. Yet the creature took over his body as his body was possessed by the creature, who began to wreak havoc in the community. As its own vessel.
Becoming the Man In Woods
After a few years, the man passed away, leaving Nathan alone in a cabin in the middle of the woods as Nathan took the man’s last name. Keeping true to the Wendigo, Nathan became a powerful being like the creature. He took the role of the creature, becoming the 'Man In Woods' and the new leader of the cult.
Nathan terrorized the people of the woods with his presence, spreading fear and horror. He began to hunt, kill, devouring people and believing that consuming their flesh would increase his power. However, he is still a human inside him (Years of living in isolation and sadness eventually drove Nathan to insanity, forcing him to commit heinous acts of violence against the people of the woods.)
Becoming Father
In his two hundred years, Nathan had mated with a few women and had children with them, but Nathan left. He believed that his immortal nature would eventually bring them more harm than good. Yet wanting a new vessel to continue his legacy, Nathan chose a human woman to bear his child.
And in his three hundred years, Nathan had met a blind woman named Allen Forest, though he had seen something special in her, that fell in love with her. They both had twins, but Nathan knew he couldn't be with the blind woman because he's a monster who kills and has been in the news. He knew that he couldn't risk revealing himself to her and risk losing her. He had to leave her behind with no harm, knowing that he would never be able to return. But in a few years, she died from a heart attack. He knew this because he was watching her all the time. But it matters not because his children have reached adulthood, they were perfect and for them to keep them as vessels.
Rumors
People rumored about him, and some people thought he wasn't real and some even claimed he was a demon, sent from the depths of hell to terrorize them. As his reputation grew, fear of the Man In Woods spread throughout the region. Some people avoided the woods, and rumors of the Wendigo continued to spread.
