Mariam Charleston, or better known as Mai-Tai is a friendly ghost who drowned during a hurricane. She still remains friendly, even though she is undead. She used to be a proud high school student, but she was tragically killed of the said hurricane.
She is still as friendly as she was when she was alive, she’s just undead.
Origin[]
Mariam was born on July 14, 2001 in U.S.A. Florida her parents loved her very much, as she was the first and only child for her parents to have. When she was 1-9 years old, she was a friendly, well behaved daughter. In the rest of her living years, she did have the tendency to smirk, but she would only smirk playfully.
Then, it was like any other weekend for Mariam. Her mother reading the daily newspaper, her father taking out the garbage, and Mariam, reading her book. It wasn’t until at around noon that the hurricane sirens started blaring to warn all citizens. “Everybody go to the lowest area you can find”, a weather expert yelled through the megaphone he was holding. Mai-Tai and mother and father hurried to the lowest area that was also nearest to them. Jane, Mai’s mother, and George, Mai’s father were in their neighbors’ house in the basement. Jane looked around, her husband and daughter ducking for extra precautions. Then, it happened. The hurricane hit Florida, rushing through as if the house was about to fall into pieces. Whenever the hurricane was over, Jane and George found out that their daughter, after searching for her, was dead. The hurricane knocked down the house and somehow swooped her away. They remembered that she forgot to lie under a sturdy object, she was in more of a panicked state then Jane or George.
At her funeral, her soul awoken, and she floated gently through the air. Even though she never suffered abuse from her parents, she searched to see any teens, children or adults suffering from abuse or bullying, or even attempts at murders. She flew to her home, and went to see her mother. Jane, sees her undead daughter, turns pale and drops the plates. Mai helped her mother calm down, and she promised she will stay the way she is, and never change.
She then, saw a man holding a bat about to strike a teenager with a bat in his hand. She rushed to the man, took the bat away from him, and gave him frostbite, even though it was 80 degrees outside, and she never knew she was capable of doing. She then hung the now dead man, to a roof. The teenager, frightened, shakily said “Thank you”, and Mai replied, “Your welcome”.
Then, she drifted away, protecting anyone from murder, abuse, or bullying.
Appearance[]
She has baby blue skin, a green sleeveless top and blue skirt bottom with pockets. Her hair is pulled into a bun, but some hangs off of either side, being the color of aqua blue (In which she dyed with the help of her mom), while also looking physically wet.
When she causes frostbite, her appearance stays the same aside from her eyes, which originally are aqua irises and pupils (also aqua) and black sclera, but when she does use frostbite on her victim, her eyes complain turn into a “glowy“ baby blue.
Coincidentally, she has a similar appearance to Ani (Lost Wight’s OC) which her creator wasn’t going for at all.
Although her artworks never show it, she is vaguely translucent, so it would mean if one takes on close inspection, you can barely see water in her body.
Whenever she was alive, she had normal scleras, aqua blue eyes, and slightly pale skin that is peach. Her iris is dark blue and her hair was wavy and slightly more dry looking. She would casually wear a white T-Shirt with aqua green stripes, a jean jacket, and a pair of jeans.
Personality[]
Mai-Tai is a friendly ghost. However, she doesn’t like it when anybody brings up her past. If you don’t irritate her, you will be on good terms with her.
She has aquaphobia, likely because she drowned during a hurricane. Every once in a while, she will smirk. She also isn’t toughest, but every once in a while, she tries to toughen up to protect anyone.
Whenever she was alive, she was pretty cheery and more outgoing. However, now she‘s more quiet and less outgoing. Whenever she spends time with her best friend, they like to draw, read, or write stories.
Powers and Weaknesses[]
Mai-Tai really doesn’t have much powers.
She can:
- Teleport
- Float
- Move through objects
- Cause frostbite
- Not be physically harmed
She does have weaknesses:
- Is afraid of water (BIGGEST weakness)
- Can be ashamed of herself easily
- Is weak when tries to land a hit
