Story[]

On a bright and steamy day, a group of classmates and a teacher were going to a farmhouse to called "Kettle Field Acreage". The buses stopped and they both got in line with the teacher as the lead. "All right, class be on your best behavior. It is a privilege to take field trips, not an obilgation. Be respectful and remember that you are representing your school today". The class begin to gossip what the teacher has said. Suddenly, a kind tour guide with 19th century clothing came in to greet the students. "Greetings people from the future", she said with a smile. The students reluctantly said hi to the tour back guide. "I am Zadie and today I will be your tour guide of these historical grounds at Kettle Field Acreage. So, shall we be off then?" As Zadie guides the students and the teacher to the sites, two students named Autumn and Heidi were the only ones who didn't follow her rules. "Ugh, I hate field trips like this", Autumn said with exhaustion. "I know it's so boring", Heidi replied.

The students and the teacher followed Zadie to the barn. "Our first stop is my family's barn, we have lived on this land for 30 years and through every kind of weather it still stands tall. Let's take a look inside, shall we?" The students and the teacher began to follow Zadie, while again Autumn and Heidi doesn't wanna follow her rules. "There's no way I'm stepping foot in that thing. It looks like it's about to collapse", Autumn said, looking a little worried. Heidi begins to join in on the group. "Are you crazy Heidi, you're actually going in?" "Well, the rest of the class is", Heidi answered. "And we're not", Autumn says. Autumn in embarrassment hides behind Heidi. "Oh my gosh, don't look now", Autumn said in a shocked tone. "I said not to look. What am I not looking?", Heidi answered while pretending to close her eyes. "Look at that employee". Autumn points to a man dressed in a man wearing the same 18th century clothing and looks like he hasn't slept since he worked. Heidi opens her eyes, looks at him, and says "Yeah, so, he's working". "So, he's cute and we should go talk to him", Autumn answered. "We should probably just wait here for the others to come back out", Heidi says. "We can see the barn from there, come on, they're gonna take forever, we might as well do some research of our own", Autumn asked. "No, Autumn", Heidi quickly replied. "Come on Heidi, if you at least come with me, it'll be the buddy system way safer", Autumn answered. "Fine, but if we get in trouble, it's your fault", Heidi says.

As Autumn and Heidi were about to walk into the farmhouse, they were immediately stopped by one of the employees named Marjorie. "Excuse me girls, but are you supposed to be with the school group?", Marjorie said with suspicion. "Oh, we were just looking for the bathroom", Autumn said. "Oh, okay, just making sure. We're really cracking down on wanderers after what happened last month. The outhouse is that way". Marjorie begins leaving. "Okay, thanks!", Autumn responded. "What happened last month?", Heidi asked. "Probably, someone was doing something unsafe and got injured", Autumn says. Autumn and Heidi went into the farmhouse. "Where'd the cute worker go?", Autumn asked. "Oh, well, let's go back to the class", Heidi suggested. "I don't get it, this is a dead end. We'd have to have seen him walk past us", Autumn says. "I don't know, but this is getting spooky. Let's go", Heidi said. "There's gotta be a door around here somewhere", Autumn suggested. Suddenly, the door opens by itself. "Like that!" "Whoa, that door just opened at the sound of your voice. You sure you wanna go in?", Heidi asked. "Yeah, why not. It's probably just the staff room or something", Autumn said. "Kind of creepy to be the staff room", Heidi suggested. "Well, remember, it has to be kind of hidden, since in the 1800s they didn't have mini fridges or whatever else could be inside. Character integrity you know?", Autumn says. "Not really", Heidi answered.

Autumn and Heidi went inside the farmhouse and it was just an empty farmhouse with a bunch of destroyed furniture. "Okay, not the staff room, let's go", Heidi suggested. "Wait, this is cool though, let's look around", Autumn said. Suddenly, the door bursted shut. "Open the door, we need light". "I didn't close it", Heidi says. "Oh, just the wind I guess", Autumn said. "Autumn, I don't like this, let's go", Heidi asked looking scared. "Look, there's someone, maybe they can tell us what this place is", Autumn says as she stares at a little girl dressed in a 18th century nightgown. "Hey!" The girl ignores her. "She totally looked right at me. Rude! Come on, let's follow her". Autumn and Heidi begin to walk around the house, aware that other unnamed people in 18th century clothing began following them, before disappearing. "Hey, Autumn, do you get the feeling like we're being watched?", Heidi asked. "Don't be so paranoid Heidi", Autumn answered. Just then, a glass mug dropped into the ground. "Whoa", Heidi says. "Okay, who's there?", Autumn asked. "Do you remember what that lady said about wanderers?", Heidi asked. "Just someone doing something they shouldn't have", Autumn answered. "Like us snooping right now?", Heidi asked politely. "You know what Heidi, if you're gonna take all the fun out of this, then just go back to the group", Autumn answered rudely. "Fine, I will", Heidi says. Heidi tries to open the door, but it's locked. "Autumn, the door won't open. We're trapped in here". "What are we gonna do?", Autumn asked. They noticed another employee who wore the same clothes as the other guy. "Look, there's another worker let's follow him, quick!", Heidi suggested. As they checked the back, he disappeared. "What another dead end with no one there. How do these people do it?", Autumn asked. "Maybe, they aren't people", Heidi says. "Are you implying they're ghosts?", Autumn asked. "We are on super old land, maybe some of the villagers haunt it", Heidi said. "Hello, ghosts!", Autumn yelled. "Stop!", Heidi said. "If you can hear me, give me a sign!" Suddenly, a sign with the word "Welcome" written in blood falls from the ceiling. "Looks fresh", Autumn suggested. "That's your sign", Heidi says. "Okay, let's get out of here", Autumn said in desperation. "The door won't budge", Heidi says. As the two tried to call for help, a woman named Harriet dressed in early 19th century clothing came in to greet them. "Hello there little ladies, were you calling for help?", Harriet asked. "Oh, yes, we got lost from our group and then got trapped in here. Is there another way out?", Autumn asked. "There ain't another way out I'm sorry to say. That their door is the only exit", Harriet answered. "Well, how do we get out?", Heidi asked. "I don't think you do", Harriet answered. "What?", the two said and looked at each other in shock. "No, I don't suppose it. I guess that's what you get for wandering", Harriet says. "We got lost!", Heidi reminded. "Do you really think you can lie to a ghost?", Harriet asked in a distorted voice and her eyes turned red. "Please, don't hurt us!", Autumn said. "Oh, I ain't gonna hurt you. I can't be disrespectful to my neighbors", Harriet continues. "New neighbors?", Autumn says in a confused matter. "Sure. Welcome to Kettle Field Acreage, for new eternal homes". Autumn and Heidi closed their eyes together to await their dying fates. They screamed in terror.
