Everything was fine when I woke up to go to school as usual; the routine had become boring, but I always focused on my studies. I dedicated myself intensely to all my subjects in elementary school, never letting assignments pile up. That’s why I consistently got good grades on my homework, proving that the effort paid off. However, every day, there were envious students and instances of bullying. Because of my autism, my classmates often liked to provoke me or spread rumors, but I simply ignored them. During recess, I preferred to isolate myself in a corner where no one would bother me, which helped me stay calm. From the start, I consistently earned high grades—like 10, 9.5, or 8.5—and my parents were always satisfied.
One day, upon arriving at school, I noticed several classmates arguing with someone who had recently transferred. I was inquisitive and decided to observe. It was a slightly tall boy with red hair, fascinating green eyes, and a freckled, attractive face. He wore a navy blue jacket and jeans, and the girls seemed bold around him. His name was Rael. He was extremely eye-catching and quickly gained popularity. On one occasion, I was in class, and this 'Rael' observed a young girl, unbeknownst to myself that he meant me, who seemed serene, sweet, affectionate, and kind. Besides being very attractive, I had dark brown, straight, medium-length hair, fair skin, and dark brown eyes. Rael couldn't resist the temptation to provoke and charm me.
"Hi, princess. It looks like you need a... prince by your side. Why don't you take a break, and we can walk a bit?" He said in a teasing, seductive tone.
"How about that 'prince' gets eaten by a dragon and leaves the princess alone?" I replied seriously, rejecting him.
Rael laughed at my response, unfazed by the rejection. "You're quite an anxious girl, aren't you? You probably need someone to fill that empty chair next to you."
"I promise, if you don't let me rest, I'll tell my teacher!" I interrupted abruptly, glaring at him.
"Oh, are you getting upset? You won this round, Aldeline. I'll leave you alone."
I resumed writing, trying to ignore that irritating boy, but couldn't shake off the encounter so quickly. Days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months, with Rael constantly finding ways to provoke me. One day, as I was heading to the library, he spotted me and decided to bother me. I sat at a table, reading some books, when he suddenly took one from my hand and asked sarcastically, "So, what do we have here... a science book?"
"Can you stop bothering me and leave me alone? It's been six weeks since you've left my side," I said quietly, clutching the science book tightly and pulling away from him.
One day, that pest was waiting for me at the school entrance, holding roses to give me. This sparked curiosity among my classmates and filled me with deep shame. I didn’t know where to hide, but Rael found it amusing and cute.
"Ah, you look so adorable when angry and embarrassed," he said, laughing and teasing.
I got mad, grabbed the bouquet of roses, and snapped, "I swear I'll shove this bouquet up your ass!" I was practically growling.
"Wow! You didn’t even need to. You already accepted the bouquet! Hehe," he pestered on. "How strange! Aren't you supposed to be sweet and nice?"
"THAT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!"
"It is, princess! I wanted to see how a girl could have the courage to say such 'bold' words in front of a man. That’s quite something for a girl to do."
I lost my patience and gave Rael a hard slap on the cheek, echoing through the school. Shocked, he stared at me, trying to process what had happened. He saw a mix of sadness and hurt on my face, and I ran home. I stayed there for a week, upset with the situation, until I received a letter at my window. It was addressed "To Aldeline," and I decided to open it, carefully reading each word:
"This apology comes from a heart that can no longer bear to be away from yours. I apologize for everything; it was never my intention to hurt you or make you sad. I just provoked you to get your attention because I like you, and I don’t want this to turn into malice. I felt like an idiot watching your tears that day when I got that huge slap, and I learned one thing: to respect your limits.”
Signed: Rael
As I read the letter, my heart softened, and deep down, I knew I would forgive him. So, I decided to return to school. When I arrived, I went straight to the classroom and saw Rael. He looked somewhat embarrassed about what had happened and approached me. He scratched his neck awkwardly, not knowing what to say until he finally managed to speak.
"Hey, Aldeline... uh... I'm sorry about that day... I acted irrationally," he said, looking embarrassed.
"It's okay. I read the letter you wrote... and I forgive you. I'm also sorry for the slap I gave you that day."
"You don't need to apologize; it's all good... I deserved that slap. The important thing is that we’re making amends," he said, smiling warmly and then hugged me tightly.
I was so surprised by the hug that I hugged him back. "From now on, can we be friends?" asked the awkward redhead. "And... would you like to go to the cafeteria if... you want, of course? I'd love that."
"We can talk a lot, Rael," I said, smiling. "How about after class?"
"Great! I'll wait for you when we get out."
"Okay!"
So, we arranged to go to the cafeteria after class. The hours passed, and finally, at 6 o'clock, I met Rael. We shared hobbies and favorite songs, enjoying each other's company for hours. When we reached the cafeteria, we sat together and, while savoring the delicious cappuccino, I started an interesting conversation.
"Rael, I just don’t understand... why does this world show so much cruelty and almost no justice? Criminals who commit acts and don’t receive severe punishment..."
"Well, I don’t know... but from my point of view, I wish everything could be resolved peacefully and civilized. I’m not a fan of violence," he said thoughtfully.
As I considered this, Rael added, "Okay, let’s put that aside; we don’t need to worry about it. I’ll be by your side offering support, no matter what happens," he said with a warm smile.
"From now on, we’ll be like... siblings!" he declared. Then, he gave me a loving kiss on the forehead and said, "See you later, Aldeline. Take care, little sister," before heading home.
After Rael left, I went home too, my cheeks flushing from the kiss on my forehead. I had dinner and went to bed, ready for whatever the future held. The next day, I returned to school, and it felt like a lot had changed. Rael was always there for me—helping me with homework, taking care of me during classes, and spending recess together.
But as the saying goes, "All good things come to an end." After a few days of talking, Rael said, "Aldeline... I need to transfer to another city. But don’t worry, sis, I'll be back soon. It’s for family reasons, so I’ll be away for a few days..."
"Rael, I'm going to miss you! Will you promise to come back soon?" I pleaded, feeling dejected.
"I promise I’ll keep my word, dear. I’ll be back soon, and we’ll have lots of fun together!" He gave me a warm smile.
"I need to buy a new suitcase. Take care. I love you!"
"I love you too, Rael! Brother!"
And so, we said goodbye, and Rael went home. A few hours later, he went out to buy the suitcase, leaving that night around 8 o'clock. On his way, he discovered a store with suitcases on sale and decided to check it out. As he was choosing one, he was unpleasantly surprised when two robbers entered the store and began to rob it, both shouting.
"Hands up!" shouted the first robber, pulling out a knife to intimidate.
"We're going to take the money!" said the second robber, starting to empty the safe.
Rael was filled with fear, never having faced anything like this before. Panic overtook him as he saw the two cruel robbers. He tried to slowly exit the store, but the criminals noticed him. In his nervous state, they attacked him, stabbing him in the back. Rael fell and screamed in despair, the sound echoing through the street before being cut short by another stab to the throat. At that moment, his mind was flooded with memories of Aldeline, and tears welled up in his eyes like rain that wouldn’t stop.
As he lay agonizing, the robbers continued to beat him until he finally succumbed. They took his belongings and money, disappearing into the darkness of the night, leaving Rael's bloodied, lifeless body behind. His last memory was of Aldeline before he closed his eyes forever. His body was found the next morning, while the thieves remained at large. The community was shocked by the brutality of the crime and demanded justice for Rael.
The police launched an investigation to capture those responsible for the murder. Aldeline was devastated by Rael’s loss and vowed revenge against the criminals who took the life of her beloved. Meanwhile, Rael's family and friends united in mourning and outrage, demanding justice and safety on the city streets.
Seeing the news, I realized my mind was overwhelmed, filled with profound sadness that poured out like a waterfall. For days and weeks, I cried, feeling my mental balance slipping away. One day, I looked into the bathroom mirror, and what I saw surprised me: a strange reflection, almost like a creature, that left me unsettled. When I turned around, there was nothing, and I tried to convince myself it was just a trick in my mind. However, when I looked back at my reflection, I noticed it had changed—my eyes had dark circles, and black tentacles were wrapping around me. I froze for a moment until guttural whispers began to echo, "Kill... eliminate... spill blood, and you will gain strength."
Then, a chilling question crossed my mind, sending a shiver down my spine.
"If you want justice for your beloved brother Rael, eliminate them. Kill them with pure hatred, and show that you are not just a 'gentle and sweet' girl; you must destroy them in the name of 'justice.'"
"What is this—a pact? What's happening? An illusion?" I asked, my voice trembling with shock.
"I will give you strength if you promise to serve me forever. The choice is yours."
I hesitated and suddenly saw hallucinations of Rael, still marked by the stabs, his eyes rolled back. The tension mounted, and a burning hatred arose within me. I responded, "Alright... then I will serve you, all for Rael's justice... I will do everything for him," I said, sad but determined.
As soon as I responded, I felt a tingling sensation in my head and a burning on my wrist. It was a strange symbol, an X in the middle of a circle. With a resolute look, I began walking toward the kitchen, grabbing my knife. A voice echoed in my mind, urging me, "Kill them," and I advanced with an insane expression. I was hunting for the two thieves who had done this to Rael.
I walked to the store where Rael had planned to buy the suitcase and examined the hidden cameras, analyzing them unnoticed. When I sensed a security guard approaching, I hid behind the door and, with a precise blow, knocked him out at the nape of his neck, putting him in a corner. I returned to observe the cameras, and finally, I saw the faces of the thieves. I told myself: "I’ve found you, you sons of bitches."
With a dark expression, I began my nighttime journey. Fortunately for the tattoos of those parasites, I already knew all the details about them. I chose to walk through the city at night, and during my journey, I encountered a man with the same tattoo on his arm—a clown. After analyzing his face, I recognized him by the scar on his nose. Like a predator stalking its prey, I hid behind a tree, holding my sharp knife. As he approached, walking in the isolated area of the street, I attacked him, stabbing him in the abdomen with all my strength.
"AAAAAAAH, you bitch! I..."
Before he could finish the sentence, I yanked the knife out, exposing his intestines. With a sinister look, I opened his abdomen coldly, ripping out his internal organs. He screamed and writhed in agony as I said, "You won’t hurt anyone anymore."
I said as I used the knife to pierce his heart last. His eyes turned upward, and blood poured from his mouth. His life extinguished, and I smiled in satisfaction. “One left,” I thought while mutilating the body and burying it in the woods. Then I moved on to find the second thief, roaming the alley until I spotted him smoking. I recognized him by the tattoo on his face, a "tear" drawn on his left cheek. With a growl, I glanced at the knife and smiled distortedly. I approached, hidden in the alley’s shadows, and found a way to catch him off guard. I stabbed him in the back, causing him to fall and scream, the wound exposing his bones.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA... WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING?"
"You hurt someone I loved," I whispered. "Don't you remember? That charming and nice redhead you murdered for no apparent reason?" A shiver ran down his spine as he realized my gaze was fixed on him.
He was terrified, like a rat with a back wound. With a violent blow, I used my knife to decapitate him, leaving him lifeless.
"You won’t hurt anyone either. Now you and your 'friend' are in hell." As I said this, I heard whispers that left me motionless; it was Rael's soul emerging with a dark smile and black eyes, blood and marks gushing from him. Rael spoke to me and said, "Little sister, you did right. You made me proud."
He whispered, and I remained frozen. I realized he would wander forever within me, a ghost now following me wherever I went. Satisfied, I began to retreat into the woods, fulfilling my promise. When I finally became a Proxy, I declared, "Justice done," and continued my journey.
