медведь 2026 is a ten-second animation showing an AI-generated image of a severely deformed polar bear with the caption below stating "ето ноябрьский мем ие 2026, вы иока не поймете", which roughly translates to the ominous "this is a November meme from 2026, you just don't understand it".

The first appearance of медведь 2026 was on Tik-Tok, created by the account @gmd_arahis with the name of the video called 'медведь 2026' on March 27th of 2023. It shows a polar bear in a snowy setting with Mr Kitty's 'After Dark' playing in the background while the polar bear remains motionless, staring blankly at the screen. Despite the rise of the image once again in late 2024, the meme has been circulating in Russian meme communities since 2023. The image has since generated many spoofs, parodies and theories.

медведь 2026 appears as a typical polar bear until you reach the hind legs and face. Its eyes have been spread far apart and positioned at the top of the flattened skull, making it resemble that of an upside down triangle. The hind legs have been stretched and bent backwards, dragging behind its body as it props up its front half with large, flat paws.
