Appearance[]
Rachel before what happened to her was a girl with short hair down to the shoulders and they were wavy, they were a light brown like the eyes, and finally the skin was almost always tanned.
Then after a change, the hair was now more disheveled, the eyes seemed wireless, the skin had turned very pale from not taking enough melanin, and finally the eyes were surrounded by large black circles.
Personality[]
Before, she was a girl who always tried to be sweet and kind, but couldn't because of her schizophrenia.
But I also changed her character, she had become much more aggressive against people she didn't trust, and she was much more indifferent. But she knew how to be "good" with the people she had become familiar with.
Story[]
Rachel had a beautiful childhood, her parents loved her very much and her brother Henry treated her like a princess. But let's say that she struggled a little to make friends, she was very shy as a child. Her life seemed to be going smoothly, until her parents began to notice strange behavior in her. Rachel at the age of 13 discovered she was schizophrenic, immediately the amazed parents tried to make her feel as good as possible, and so they hired a psychologist.
This discovery did not stop Rachel even with her beliefs, her manias and voices in her head, she continued her life, she still tried to do well in school, to continue her favorite sport which was archery and also to find a friend, succeeding at the beginning of high school. The girl he made friends with was named Taylor. She was a little shorter than she had curly red hair, always tied in a knot, and her eyes were blue. From the first moment they met, they bonded a lot.
She tried to overcome this obstacle and continue life as best she could, but then there were those who changed everything. Rachel had just started her fourth year of high school, and was now 17. That day she had a fever and for prevention her parents did not send her to school, as she was about to fall asleep in her bed she began to feel them. His voices, which she could only hear, began to say only one word "window" to her. The voices were growing so worried Rachel got up and immediately went to look out the window. But as usual there was nothing unusual, so she hated the voices telling her to do something but then nothing happened. He leaned all his weight on the window staring out, he saw the house of his neighbors, two children who were playing football and finally always the usual forest whose legends were circulating and it was said that people had disappeared inside, but she at this he didn't believe it much, they were just stories told by parents to children to keep them from approaching the woods.
Seeing that it was all normal and that his voices were wrong he was about to go back to his bed, but then he saw the most terrifying thing ever. He was a tall being in a suit and tie but the terrifying thing was that he had no facial features. While he looked at her in amazement I began to hear a loud static noise that made her fall to the ground, she immediately got up with difficulty to try to see the being but by now it was gone. Rachel was still in disbelief but I try to find plausible answers, and finally I think it was because of her schizophrenia and that the psychologist told her she might be hallucinating. So a little less worried she went to sleep.
And from that day that I start dreaming of him every night, these nightmares she always ended up being killed by that being. So he began to no longer sleep for fear, letting himself out of huge dark circles. She couldn't take it any more every night for her it was a nightmare and it had only been a week. She didn't say anything about her parents and brother or her best friend Taylor, she didn't want them to worry too much. I wait for the day to go to the psychologist with whom for years he had gained some confidence, he immediately told her about the rumors and his bizarre beliefs while he saw that she was perplexed writing everything on a sheet of paper. After she finished speaking, the psychologist told her in a calm voice that it was only the hallucinations she had due to her illness and that her beliefs were always due to the fault of schizophrenia. After saying those words Rachel was about to leave but first she asked the psychologist not to tell her parents anything, and then left much happier.
Days passed and she continued to have the same nightmares but with less fear because the psychologist had warned her. It was evening and Rachel was returning home after finishing her archery training, as soon as she entered the house she saw her parents particularly shocked especially Henry. They made her sit down and inside she was already asking a thousand questions, they told her they should take her to a psychiatric hospital. For a few seconds Rachel didn't believe what she had heard but then I start asking why she made this decision. And this is where I enter the conversation Henry starting to tell everything from the beginning, his psychologist had told him about the strange and hallucinations he had and had proposed that he take her to the hospital for his well-being. Rachel felt betrayed he had promised her she wouldn't say anything and instead it was just a lie. I yell at them and then go to his room, even though there was nothing more he could do now.
Before going to the hospital for months she decided to warn Taylor that hearing his words began to cry and told her that he would save her, she liked the fact that her friend wanted not to let her go but still she could not do anything. He saw her house slowly disappear as she looked out the window carefree. As soon as they arrived she was horrified to see a bush there too but her attention was on the nurses who took her to the room where she would sleep, the hospital was divided into several floors, and in her floor there were only 3 people plus her 4. The first boy did not quite understand his name but it seemed that he suffered from various diseases and among this there was that of tourette, then a girl who was named Maya and seemed to suffer from bipolar type 2, and finally the one who put her more anxiety, his name was Oliver and he had his hands and arms bandaged and his face covered with two large band-aids, they said he was obsessed with Xs with a circle and it seemed that he had drawn them all over the room and that he was engraved on her cheeks.
Her days were strange, she remained motionless and mute for many hours, she began to hear many more voices and always saw someone but she could not distinguish the person, in the evening before going to sleep they gave her sleeping pills and gave her other pills, perhaps to make the anxiety go away, he didn't know. When they gave her those medicines she felt very bad but they said it was for her good, but she couldn't believe him how she could trust them if she couldn't even trust the psychologist. It was late at night and she was always having the same nightmare, but this time before the being killed her she heard a scream that made her wake up. He opened the door a little to check what had happened, he saw many nurses running into the room next to his, he did not remember well who was there but maybe the boy with the tics, after having seen enough closed the door and decided to want to try to sleep, but as soon as he turned around he saw the dreaming being in front of him making tentacles come out of his back. She started screaming and that night was calmed down by 4 nurses.
It was late at night and she woke up still sweaty, she wasn't there anymore she just wanted to sleep, then began to hear the voices that were telling him to get some water. I try to call someone but it didn't seem like he was coming so she started towards the kitchen. Finished drinking she headed for her room, as she walked down the dark corridor she heard something behind her, Rachel started running, but it was catching up with her until I jumped on her and turned out to be Oliver. She had a small knife in her hand and she had a killer look, Rachel squirmed as much as possible but he struggled to stop her and started cutting her cheeks. Very loud scream, the pain was unbearable he was making two Xs on her cheeks and then he was about to add the circle but immediately doctors arrived to be able to block him and not let him finish the incision. Oliver squirmed like a madman and then said a sentence that made her blood run cold.
Oliver: She and the slave of the faceless man, faceless man, we have to kill her.
Then they took him away, two doctors immediately took her to the infirmary where she too put two large patches on her now damaged cheeks. Then they told her that she should not worry and that everything would be fine, but now she is no longer as confident as she once had started to think they were plotting on her. Days passed and she wanted to talk to Oliver to figure out how she knew about the faceless man, but they didn't let Oliver come near, now he just wanted to kill her. So she decided to come up with a plan, while he was doing the same talks with the hospital psychologist, Rachel entered the room hoping for a clue. The room was carpeted with those weird X's with the circle and there seemed to be nothing else. He was about to leave the room but then he saw a little book under the bed. He picked it up and discovered that this seemed to be his diary where he had written everything.
I begin to leaf through and read it, it was written that he had seen that faceless being and that he began to investigate, discovering that he had slaves in his service and that they all had in common the symbol of the X with the circle, in the other pages then he told how no one believed him. Ifine said he had stolen his peers' medical records and when in Rachel's bed he went completely insane.
Rachel reading those things convinced herself that she didn't have to stay in that hospital or she would have a bad end, after she went back to her room still stuck with what she had read, because she would never want slaves. Two nights passed and the tension between Oliver and her was palpable. Then I start to hear those voices that only she heard, they said that she should have run away and so she decided as always to listen to them. Open the closet where she had stored the clothes with which she had come there the first time, they were black wide and swollen pants, then a gray sweater and finally some sneakers also gray. She put them on and then began the plan, slowly opened the door of the room and went out retracing the corridors, continuing to walk until she finally saw the door that would take her to freedom to freedom.
immediately she went to that door and finally went out starting to run, she finally thought she was safe but then she saw a doctor who was resorting to her and begged her to come back. He immediately started running trying to sow him but he didn't really want to give up so I entered the forest. I keep running and then she hid in some sort of bush, the man not seeing her keep begging her and calling her name until Rachel can't hear it anymore. I think he had finally got rid of it but now he couldn't go back, he didn't know how to do it he didn't know that wood, so I start walking in a random direction.
her walk was very long and crazy, voices that kept telling her what to do and hallucination in fact in a moment she thought she saw Taylor behind a tree, I keep walking until she saw a pretty lousy scene. The doctor who had chased her until a few minutes ago was now on the ground lifeless and with a large hole in his chest. At first I think it was another hallucination of his, but touching him he realized that it was all true. I start to recoil in fright and then appeared, the faceless creature that had haunted her for nights and that had made Oliver blame her, heard the static noise again and in that moment when she thought she was going to die she made the only thing that came to her mind. I start begging him not to kill her, she wanted to continue living even with schizophrenia he didn't care he wanted to keep improving with archery, he still wanted to see his family and hug Taylor.
Suddenly you hear a voice in his head, at first I think it was one of his many voices he heard during the day, but then I notice that this was much deeper and darker than it came from a cave. He actually told her that he would not kill her and that her archery skills were very useful. Rachel immediately began to cry with joy and then cry with pain, something was starting to burn behind his neck as if they were cutting it, and then hearing the phrases that changed her life:
???: I only let you live because from now on you will be my proxy.
From that day on, everything changed. It was now called Fugitive for the way she had managed to escape and save herself. Then he wore a mask and on it were two big Xs on the eye holes and then an embroidered open-mouthed smile, as if to say that happiness was not to be shown. Finally they had given her a weapon, it was a crossbow with sharp sides so that she could defend herself even up close and she keeps a saccha with all the darts at her disposal attached to her waist.
