Origin[]

Bulletpoints:

  • They play it, and slowly fall in love

  • They eventually buy a copy of Undertale online which someone claims that they got when funding the kick-starter off of Ebay
  • Carmen is a bit suspicious
  • Melanie says that she needs to loosen up
  • As they play, and Carmen completes the Pacifist Route, instead of the usual scene where Frisk talks to Asriel, there is static, with Asriel's sound byte playing continuously
  • Asriel and Chara's character sprites come onto the screen, showing a map and pictures of a forest.
  • Melanie is excited, she believes that it could lead to Mt Ebbot
  • Carmen tries to talk her out of it, knowing that Mt Ebbot isn't real
  • Melanie ignores her, before planning the trip

  • Crying, Melanie screams at Carmen's dead body, screaming apologies.
  • Melanie finds what she was searching for, a large mountain
  • Melanie, looking at Carmen's lifeless body, drops Carmen into the crevice.
  • She grows depressed due to this, and stayed in her room until she finally finds enough motivation to end it
  • She kills herself at midnight, on the same day Carmen died
  • Melanie wakes up in a dark room, with no end
  • She gets up and sees...
  • Carmen?
  • She runs, crying and apologising
  • But Carmen just pats her head and doesn't say anything
  • Another figure, a shadowed one, explains that he helps teens that haven't had much of a chance
  • He offers for Melanie to go back to earth as a spirit, and become Chara, like Carmen chose to become Frisk to return to earth
  • Melanie chose the Chara option
  • They return and see Melanie's dead body.
  • Melanie says that she is no more, that now she will only go by Cheerful Chara.
  • Carmen claims the same, before they decide to embark on their journey to fufill their Chara's desires

  • Creator is The Reformed Antagonist
  • They identify as Genderfluid, but they mostly go by She/Her and They/Them
  • The figure that they met was the infamous Sir Joyful, who had already trapped Carmen, and aimed to trap Melanie as well.
