Backstory: Elizabeth Woods was born on October 26 to a family, growing up she was always alone which caused her to be socially awkward. Her brother Alexander would always make fun of her, and became abusive towards her. He felt jealous that she was getting the attention since she was the only female in the family. As much as she complained to her parents, her parents turned a blind eye and ignored her pleas of mercy. Elizabeth began to curse at her brother, and wished to have another sister. Luckily, the next year her mother had given birth to another girl, who they named Tiana. Elizabeth became happy, and started to treat Tiana with love. Alexander however grew even more angry, because his parents would always give their attention towards Elizabeth and Tiana. This would cause him to bully Elizabeth and Tiana even more, because he always wanted his parents’ approval and their attention. Elizabeth would try her best to protect Tiana, because she didn’t want her younger sister to bear the same pain she grew up with. By Elementary school, they were inseparable.
It was like they were connected by the hip, because of how close they were. They didn’t have many friends, but to them they didn’t care because they knew it was better to be with each other than be separated. Since Elizabeth was older than Tiana, Elizabeth would always act out in class because she did not have her sister. Elizabeth would cry and threaten the teacher to let her see her sister Tiana. She had to see if Tiana was okay because she always grew up to be overprotective of Tiana because of Alexander’s abuse towards her. By Middle school, they were even closer to each other, because they had enrolled in the same classes. Elizabeth had purposely flunked in Middle school, so her and Tiana would be together.
She knew it was for the better of them to never be separated. When her parents found out Elizabeth had flunked on purpose, they began to scream at her for throwing away her education for her sister. Elizabeth didn’t care, because she knew she had to be there for Tiana. Of course, Tiana didn’t mind since she felt the same with Elizabeth. Together they were like conjoined twins, and couldn’t bear being apart. Middle school went by a breeze with some challenges, but nevertheless they were able to face those challenges together. However, by High school Elizabeth found a new set of friends, and slowly she began to hang around with Tiana less. This had put a toll on Tiana, because it seemed like a part of her was ripped apart. Elizabeth would hang out with her new friends, while Tiana would be the outcast and become a lonely person. It was around Halloween time when something had happened. It was the year 2019 exactly the day of Halloween.
Elizabeth and her friends decided to go to an empty asylum that was known for being haunted. Her friends had begged her to also take her sister Tiana, and even though Elizabeth didn’t want to; they still dragged Tiana with them. Tiana was nervous about the location because she had heard stories of people going insane or ended up going missing from the asylum known as, “Lahambra Psych Ward” Since she was the youngest, her sister’s friends urged her to be the first one to enter the asylum. Tiana didn’t want to go, but Elizabeth snapped at her and pushed her in front of the gate. Tiana was shocked by her behavior but not wanting to anger her more, she entered the asylum. She could hear her sister’s friends laughing at her while drinking alcohol. Shaking her head, she walked into the abandoned asylum and explored around. Her footsteps echoed down the hallways as she used her flashlight to explore around, with a light breeze flowing through her white dress.
Even though her and Elizabeth weren’t that close anymore, they decided to wear a “couple” costume which was an angel and demon. Tiana the angel had her white shawl covering her head due to her being cold, while Elizabeth the demon was walking with her friends;her red dress being dragged by the floor. Elizabeth’s friends were taking a swing of alcohol laughing at Tiana for being so skittish walking around. After her friends kept making fun of Tiana, Elizabeth snapped back at them to be quiet about her sister. Her friends shook their head, and booed at her for ruining the fun.
As the night passed by, Tiana was in a dark room where there were three beds with a broken window that was smashed in. Tiana looked around and found drawings of people and black scribbles around the drawing. Some said: “Let me go”, “Clawing my eyes…”, “God hath no mercy”, and one that chilled her spine was, “He is here…” When she heard a sound behind her, she squealed and flashed her light to see Elizabeth and her friends. Sighing, she gave them the drawings she found. The friend of Elizabeth Antoina said, “Great, this is the best room to play a game!”
Elizabeth looked at her, “What do you mean a game?” Antonia laughed at her, and pulled out an Ouija board. Tiana looked at the board, and rushed to leave the room, but another of Elizabeth’s friend Timothy grabbed her arm and pulled her in. She fell to the ground and whimpered in pain. This caused Elizabeth to yell at Timothy for hurting Tiana, but Timothy was unfazed by it. Antonia laid down the board, and told everyone to sit in a circle. Tiana knew she had to obey since she knew they would chase after her if she tried to escape. Together the four were in a circle, and holding hands. Antonia cried out for the spirits to come by to communicate with them. Elizabeth and Tiana held each other’s hands longer than usual, squeezing each other as if it was their last time holding each other’s hands. Then the game began, at first the planchette didn’t move, which made Timothy and Antonia very impatient. Cursing at the board, Antonia grabbed the pictures and began to rip them apart. Elizabeth gasped and shook her head, “No”. She sneered at Antonia asking what she was doing, and Antonia just smirked at her.
Finally the planchette began to move around, and Antonia was laughing, with her laughter echoing down the hallway. They touched the planchette and it began to spell out, “S-I-S-T-E-R” This made everyone confused about the word, “Sister” being spelled out, Elizabeth and Tiana just looked at each other thinking maybe it was a sign. Then again the board spelled out, “T-O-G-E-T-H-E-R” Now everyone was confused again, the board wasn’t making any sense, so Antonia decided to end the game because none of it made sense for her. She also wanted to end it so she could get dirt drunk at her house. However, the planchette wouldn’t budge as they tried to move it. Then the planchette became hot, which made everyone let go of the planchette. Zooming around the board, the board spelled out, “H-A-T-H N-O M-E-R-C-Y F-O-R S-I-S-T-E-R-S”
“Hath no mercy for sisters?” Elizabeth whispered, “What does that mean?” The moment she said that, a beam of light came out of the board. Tiana, Elizabeth, Antonia, and Timothy screamed and jumped up. Two orbs began to form out of the beam, and then there were two girls holding hands together. They were wearing white clothing with black eyes staring at the group. The two girls stepped forward, and looked at Tiana and Elizabeth. Tiana and Elizabeth held hands in fear, and looked at each other. The two girls began to laugh with an evil tone. They looked at Antonia, and Timothy grinning ear to ear. Finally, they looked at Tiana and Elizabeth, as if they were studying them.
“We need a vessel…” One of the girls whispered with a deep voice, “And we found one… God hath no mercy…” In a blink of an eye, the spirits entered Tiana and Elizabeth by the mouth and this caused Tiana and Elizabeth to cough out black liquid. Elizabeth’s appearance changed to fit with one of the other girls, and so did Tiana. The two sisters twitched and they blacked out.
When they opened their eyes again, Antonia and Timothy were now on the floor bleeding as their throat was ripped apart with their eyes gone. Tiana screamed in fear, as she looked down to see her hands painted with blood, and she glanced at Elizabeth. Elizabeth was unfazed and smiled. Looking at Tiana, she grabbed her hand again and together they walked away from the asylum. Tiana softly crying, with Elizabeth giggling into the night.
