HISTORY[]

I've always been a fan of racing games, and one of my favorites was Beach Buggy Racing. I remember spending hours playing it, enjoying the colorful environments, quirky characters, and racing chaos. But that all changed the day I found a version of the game that I should never have installed.

A friend sent me a slightly weird message on Discord, saying, "Hey, I found a weird version of Beach Buggy. You shouldn't play it, but I think you'll like it." Attached to the message was a file called BeachBuggyRacing.X. At first I thought it was just a joke, or maybe a fan-made mod of the kind that abounds on the internet. I didn't suspect anything fishy. Mistake number one.

When I opened the file, the screen flickered, showing the game's logo, but the usual music wasn't there. Instead, there was just a low-pitched sound, like someone dragging something metallic across concrete. Despite the bad feeling, I pushed forward. The main menu looked the same, but there was something subtly different.  The shadows on the characters were deeper, their eyes seemed to follow me, and the background showed a red sunset, very different from the typical tropical environment.

I chose Rez, as I always did, but instead of his mischievous smile, he had a distressed expression, as if he knew something I didn't. The races began, and everything seemed normal... at first. But when the car started, I felt an uneasiness in the air. The scenery I was given was completely new, one I had never seen before: a desert landscape, with the sky tinted a deep, almost apocalyptic red. Instead of the cheerful music, I only heard a strange constant humming sound, as if something was trying to reach me.

As I progressed through the race, the other characters did not act normally. They moved slowly, as if they were being controlled by something. None of them cast skills or power-ups, and when I passed them, their heads slowly turned towards me, their faces completely disfigured.  Mikka’s eyes were completely black, lifeless. B’Zorp, who is normally a cheerful character, had his face covered in blood, and his eyes looked like they had been gouged out.

I started to sweat. What kind of joke was this? I tried to pause the game, but the button wouldn’t respond. I tried to quit, but there was no way to close the window. The race continued, and every time I turned a corner, the environment became darker, more desolate. The other racers’ vehicles began to fade away, and characters fell one by one into what seemed to be an abyss forming on the track.

Then, something terrifying happened: the game froze, and suddenly, a message appeared on the screen: “Do you want to race with me forever?”

My heart raced. I had never seen that message before in any version of the game. Before I could react, the screen went black, and all I could hear was distorted laughter. It wasn’t human laughter.  It was cold, metallic, and sounded like it was too close to my ears.

Suddenly, the screen came back on, but this time it wasn't the game. It was a blurry image of my room. My own room. I froze. I was watching through my webcam. There was no way the game was getting access to my camera. Cold sweat ran down my back as I tried to shut down the computer, but the button wouldn't work. My cursor was stuck.

Another message appeared: "You can't escape the race. I'm here."

Finally, I managed to shut down the computer by unplugging the power cord. I sat in silence, breathing heavily. I knew something was wrong, but I didn't understand what had triggered this.

That night, I woke up to the sound of engines roaring outside my house. I walked over to the window, and what I saw paralyzed me: a black buggy, lights on, parked right in front of my door. The figure in the driver's seat was unmistakable.  It was Rez, but not the one I knew. He was covered in blood, his eyes empty, and his smile was now a terrifying grimace.

One last message appeared on my phone: "The race never ends. I'll find you, on any road, anywhere."

Warning:[]

If you find a copy of Beach Buggy Racing with the name .X, DO NOT open it. Several players have reported strange and disturbing events after running the file. It is not just a game. Stay away, for your own safety.

A cursed version of Beach Buggy Racing is said to be circulating in the darkest corners of the internet. No one knows where it came from or who created it, but those who have played it report disturbing events, especially around the holidays. If you dare to play it at Christmas, be sure to be prepared - some players never returned to tell the tale.

Facts:[]

1. Unknown origin: Although the BeachBuggyRacing.X file has appeared on several forums and download sites, no one has been able to trace its origin. Some claim that it first appeared on a hacked games forum in 2015, but the original thread was deleted without a trace.

2. Missing players: There have been multiple reported cases of players disappearing after downloading this cursed version. Curiously, these cases usually coincide with holidays, such as Christmas or Halloween. In some cases, their computers were found turned on, with the game open on the screen.

3. Strange noises: Many who have played this version of the game claim to have heard noises outside their house during or after playing. Engine sounds, distorted laughter, and banging on windows are the most common.

4. Unusual modifications: In this cursed version, characters display strange behavior, such as tears of blood, disfigured faces, or disturbing phrases in the middle of races.  Some tracks even contain elements that aren't in the original game, such as apocalyptic landscapes or shadowy creatures that seem to be watching you.

5. Recurring story: A disturbing pattern among players who have survived to tell their tale is that many report seeing a black buggy parked outside their homes, sometimes with its lights on and a figure that appears to be one of the game's characters.
