~ Aurora broadcasting to her victims via electronic devices |
Aurora, Christine Miller more commonly known as Aurora Miller, the main protagonist of The Debts You Owe My Soul, is a little girl whose life was unfairly cut short by the hands of her own father. Incapable of resting, the remnant of the tragedy still haunts the Lake Osborne’s Park, striking fear into those who inhabit the small town of Naperville.
Origins[]
Daughter of split parents, the nine-year-old Aurora has to live with constant fear of making wrong decisions, forced to choose between one parent or the other.
One summer in particular, worried about her father’s own mental health due to his debilitating anxiety and numerous disturbing phone calls bothering him throughout the past days, - and pressed by his endless asking - she talked herself and her mother into spending a couple of weeks with the man and his fiancé.
Addicted to gambling and in debt, Elliot holds his daughter hostage of his own problems, going as far as offering her organs to earn money and escape death.
One evening, according to the plan made up by himself and Layla, the man promises Aurora to take her out for dinner. Once gotten to the place that would have soon become her tomb, the couple drags the little girl out of the car and, with no other way to hold her down, her father repeatedly hits her until she’s fallen unconscious. Forcing her body on the trunk of her fiancé’s vehicle, the woman is finally able to intoxicate the child with life threatening drugs and later drive her lifeless body into the park, where the same people pestering Elliot were waiting to perform surgery. Woken up from her endless slumber and unable to accept her fate, little Aurora roams the land of the tragedy, absorbing the souls of those who dare to shatter her delusional, childish reality.
It’s rumored that, years after the accident, the remnant of his daughter has finally came to claim its price, taking Elliot’s life in his sleep.
Appearance[]
Aurora usually makes her appearance as an harmless ghost with empty eyes and blood running out of her nose. Her hair is dark brown and tied in two uneven pigtails, with one of them being shorter than the other, Her hair is tied by two blue, dirty hair ties. She’s mostly seen wearing a baby blue dress with red flowers sewed on the front, but being able of shapeshifting, people reported her wearing different clothes as well.
When brought to her Scourge form, acid is seen crawling under her skin, coloring it pitch black, and dripping from her legs, hair, face and arms, which grow ridiculously long claws spelling demonic symbols on top of them. Her eyes display red, glowing pupils and her mouth grows large pointy teeth.
Both when angered and not, her body has a grayish complexion, with multiple cuts and bruises located mostly on her lower and bottom limbs. What stands out the most though, is the large opening located at the bottom left of her belly, from which her insides spill out.
Personality[]
Delusional and introverted, Aurora is quiet and reserved most of the time, probably lost deep within her few pleasant memories. When brought to her breaking point, she gives her victims no hope to spare, usually walking through their dreams and drastically changing their life, driving them paranoid. Most of the time, the people she picks on end up taking their own lives. If you’re a survivor then… it’s recommended to lock your doors and windows; you don’t know who may pay you a visit.
Abilities[]
Unlike ghosts, Aurora is not able to float, go through walls or possess people. However, being an entity, she has the main abilities of demonic beings such as electrokinesis, dream walking, shapeshifting, electromagnetic interference and super strength (when angered).
Being mute, she’s able to communicate solely through electronic devices, usually broadcasting her face or her words to multiple devices at the same time.
