Bio[]
Backstory: Alice Button grew up in the most iconic city in Nevada; Las Vegas. Growing up, she was surrounded by drugs and alcohol. Her mother was a legal prostitute who married her father, one of the mafias in Las Vegas. Charlie, her father was a mafia leader who became an alcoholic and a gambler. Her mother Victoria wanted Charlie to end the gambling and alcohol addiction because she was pregnant with their first child, Alice.
However, Charlie didn’t want to listen, and instead, he forced Victoria to do drugs with him. With his influence, Victoria became hooked on cocaine and vodka. Due to the exposure of drugs and alcohol during Victoria’s pregnancy, Alice was born with fetal alcohol syndrome meaning she had a birth defect that affected how she behaved and learned.
As Alice grew older, her parents continued to abuse drugs and alcohol. Her father Charlie wanted to get Alice hooked on drugs, however, she had a habit of running away from her house, so he never got the chance too. Alice would run away with her friends Vincent, Alejandro, and Sasha around Las Vegas. The four of them would hide around the Las Vegas strip, stealing money, and escape from cops.
However, since her syndrome affected how she behaved, she would always put herself in more risk which leads to her friends having to save her from harm’s way more than enough. At times, she would lead to explosive arguments with her friends, claiming that she could do anything she wants because her father is a powerful man in Las Vegas.
Vincent, her right hand in the friend group, would always try to talk her out of doing dangerous activities because now they were getting older and tired of this delinquent lifestyle. Ignoring him, she started to get into her father’s business. Charlie would teach Alice how to gamble and show her some tricks on manipulating people to get what she wants.
Afterward, Alice was hooked on gambling and smoking by the age of 15, she had dropped out of high school and continued to work with her father’s business. Charlie worked as a casino owner, and as an underground mafia leader. Alice was now his right hand, and she now had said in everything. Together they were unstoppable with the now picture-perfect family.
Of course, happiness doesn’t always stay forever. When her mother Victoria was pregnant with her brother Jonathan, her mother gave in to addiction. Victoria had died from a drug overdose, killing her only son in the process. Charlie became depressed and cold. He began to ignore Alice and his own job.
Guilt was consuming his heart, and he had decided to leave the mafia business behind. Alice grew angry at his decision, because he had built an empire, and for him to leave it because her mother died? She didn’t understand him, so by age 18, she became the new mafia leader.
Angry with her own father, and the resentment of her own mother, she became more aggressive and demanded more people to work under her. The mafia business began to crumble under her, because of the lack of strong leadership, so she had decided to enlist her former friends to help.
Vincent became her right hand, Alejandro her mastermind, and Sasha the famous decoy for the police. For years, the mafia business began to strive in success, however, she began to grow abusive with her addictions. Alice had picked up a huge gambling addiction along with smoking addiction.
Due to this, she started to slip up from her duties as a leader. Charlie, despite still grieving from the loss of his wife and child, decided to step up and demand Alice to give back the power to him. Alice ignored him, and continued to gamble in the casino and started to make poor choices for the group. Out of options, Charlie decided to play a game with Alice.
He knew he couldn’t play cards with her because by that time she was nicknamed the “Ace” due to her prowess in cards and how rare she is in losing. Praying to faith, he had demanded Alice to play, Russian roulette with him. Alice chuckled at his offer but decided to play Russian roulette with him. Together they were in a dark lit room in front of each other, with Vincent being the only witness.
Click by click, the anticipation of when the bullet will strike grew heavier. The tension was thick and it was noticeable Alice and Charlie grew scared. Nevertheless, after it was Charlie’s turn and the trigger didn’t pull through, Alice smirked as she picked up the gun. Out of chance, she pulled the trigger in front of Charlie, and the bullet struck his heart.
Blood poured out of his chest, he clucked on to his chest and gasped, “How did you know?”
Alice began to laugh and replied, “Father, it was a rigged game.” Charlie looked at his daughter one last time, as she walked up to his face to face and smirked.
Vincent’s face grew pale as he had witnessed his friend murder her father. He tried to move, but Alice stopped him.
“Don’t even dare.” she sneered, “He was just a victim in my game!”
Looking at him, she began to laugh around while dancing around her father’s corpse. Then she stopped and looked at Vincent.
Vincent grew uneasy and his eyes went to the ground. Alice walked up to him and giggled, she pulled out the cards she had in her pocket and began to shuffle them. “Bring in a random guy, I want to have some fun tonight!” she said continue to shuffle until she sat down on her seat. Vincent nodded and left the room. Alice grabbed her pocket pen and began to scribble on her cards. Hours later, a random man came into the room, looking around screaming.
Vincent and Alejandro taped his mouth shut and forced him to sit in front of Alice. The man took one look at Charlie’s corpse and began to scream even louder. Alejandro hit the back of his head, which made the stranger a bit dizzy.
Alice chuckled and walked up to the man. She fanned out her cards facing away from the man. Getting close to his ear, she whispered, “Pick a card… any card.”
