Plot[]
Suicidemouse.avi (or commonly known as "Suicide Mouse" for short) is a lost episode Creepypasta that consists a lost cartoon of Mickey Mouse, directed by Walt Disney. History After the original story was posted to 4chan's /x/ board in October 22, 2009, Jojacob666 (the person behind the videos for Propagation6, The Grifter and the Candle Cove Screaming Episode) would begin work on a video adaptation of the story. He posted a GIF preview of his adaptation the next day.
Video details[]
0:00 - This video begins with a black and white looping animation of Mickey Mouse sadly walking down the street, bobbing his head up and down. In the background, there are six looping buildings, each with strange textures applied to them as well as windows scattered in random places. The music is nothing more than a loud, discordant piano, sounding as though somebody is banging on the keys.
1:09 - White noise replaces the banging piano.
1:49 - The screen goes to black, with faint background noise.
2:08 - A line from the story appears on-screen.
"After it cut to black, it stayed like that until the 6th minute, before going back...
...was different this time..."
2:37 - Rapid footsteps can be heard.
2:40 - The screen cuts back to the footage of Mickey walking, except the sound is different this time. We are treated to the slowed down sound of somebody crying, moaning, and occasionally wailing in an unknown language. It should also be noted that the screen is shaking ever so slightly.
3:09 - We can faintly hear a sound that resembles wind or a crowd screaming.
3:23 - The crying stops, and the sound of the wind/crowd begins getting louder and higher pitched.
3:39 - The shaking stops, and a smile appears on Mickey's face (VERY hard to see due to the low quality of the video).
3:43 - The sound finally changes to that of the bloodcurdling screaming of a woman which loops over and over.
3:52 - Mickey walks backwards.
3:54 - Mickey walks forward again, his eyes roll to the bottom of his face.
3:56 - The screen flashes black for a split second, then Mickey appears again with his eyes intact. However, the buildings begin to deform and twist as Mickey's face completely disappears. The buildings then deform into a blur.
4:03 - Mickey is walking down the street, now faceless, and the buildings appear to be motion blurred. Throughout this scene, there are quick frames of an inverted video. This video shows a painting of the suicidal god from the 1989 film, Begotten, a ventriloquist dummy, and various animal bones. The animal bones can also be seen overlaid on the footage.
4:10 - A deep voice can be heard for a second.
4:13 - The slowed down crying and moaning is heard again as the screaming begins to fade out.
4:36 - The deep voice returns, speaking in what is apparently Esperanto.
4:45 - The talking stops.
4:48 - The sound of the wind/crowd is heard again.
4:55 - The slowed down crying stops again, and the sound of the wind/crowd begins getting louder and higher pitched.
5:00 - The flashing and overlaid video disappears. We go back to the previous scene of Mickey walking with the buildings back to normal, except there is now a wave effect applied to the scene.
5:15 - The wave effect gets worse.
5:16 - The sounds changes to the looping bloodcurdling scream again.
5:21 - Another video is overlaid on the footage, showing a primordial marionette with no eyes or nose, just a jaw.
5:27 - The wave effect gets even worse.
5:41 - The screen is shaking violently.
6:16 - All sound stops.
6:17 - We cut to a close-up of faceless Mickey, moving in a strange fashion in front of a deformed, swirly background. Throughout this sequence, a broken music box is heard in the background.
6:43 - The music box ends, and we see an image of white Russian text on a black background. The Russian text roughly translates to "The sights of Hell brings its viewers back in."
6:58 - The Russian text disappears.
7:02 - We see dark footage of the silhouette of a woman in a dark robe walking through a doorway. She is about to close the door.
7:07 - Video ends.
"suicidemouseavi" version[]
This version has a few differences once it was uploaded to this channel. For one thing, the video's duration is 9:05, making it one second longer than what the creepypasta describes, but nonetheless more accurate.
The first change video-wise is before the video blacks out, it becomes blurry and begins to zooms out before cutting to black at 1:49. During this, there is no line from the story appearing on-screen. At 3:34, we see the close-up of faceless Mickey (seen at the end of the original) until 3:40, where it goes back to black.
In this version, the screen doesn't return until the 5:03 mark. It should be mentioned that due to the footsteps being pushed to when the screen returns instead of three seconds before, the rest of the video is out of sync.
The final change doesn't happen until the ending, showing the close-up of faceless Mickey. At 8:55, the music box abruptly cuts off, making the last 10 seconds silent. At 9:01, the footage of faceless Mickey becomes blurry and zooms out just like when the video first blacked out, except this time, it also fades to white and the video just ends. Because of this, the Russian text and the footage of the silhouette in the doorway is completely absent in this version.
Deleted Scene[]
On January 30, 2010, another video was uploaded to the suicidemouseavi channel, showing a "deleted scene" of the original video that was meant to appear during the black screen. The duration of the video is 1:55.
The deleted scene simply just shows edited clips from the original video. A distorted and reversed piano cover of Johann Sebastian Bach's "Badinerie from Suite No. 2" plays throughout the entire video. While most of the audio of the video is just the distorted piano cover, the bloodcurdling screaming from the original video is heard at 1:28 until 1:43. The "deleted scene" ends with the close-up of faceless Mickey before finally fading to white at 1:51 and ending.
Last Stand[]
On March 19, 2010, the final video was uploaded to the suicidemouseavi channel, titled "suicide mouse: last stand." This video is somewhat more comedic/sad than the previous two. The duration is 1:20.
The video begins with live-action footage of a nuclear explosion. During this clip, the slowed down crying and moaning from the original video can be heard. At 0:35, the explosion clip fades to black, then fades in to the "deleted scene," except the music is replaced with Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture" grimly playing over the footage. This goes on until the 1:08 mark, where it fades out. The screen stays black as the slowed down moaning can be heard again, all the way until 1:20, when it ends.
Sources in the video[]
- The model of Mickey walking retraced from this panel in the 1930 comic, Mr. Slicker and the Egg Robbers.
- The sound of the crying/moaning/wailing is a slowed down version of an audio file on freesound.org, named "20071202.walking.shadow.wav."
- The bloodcurdling screaming is a mashup of two audio files uploaded by FreqMan, also on freesound.org, named "psycho scream 1.wav" and "psycho scream 2.wav." Both audio files were first uploaded by Freqman back in 2007.
- The painting of the suicidal god from Begotten was made by Jojacob himself. He uploaded it to his DeviantArt "jobelow" six days before the story was first published to 4chan.
- The distorted piano cover of Badinerie used in the fake deleted scene is from a video uploaded in 2007 simply named "Bach's Badinerie on piano." In the deleted scene, the song was reversed and slightly slowed down.
- The clip of the silhouette in the doorway at the end comes from "Mary's Vlog" by bloodymaryworth, whom Jojacob is subscribed to.
The following sources are unknown. Please point it out in the comments and/or edit this page if you find them.
The piano and music box are rumored to be made by Jojacob himself, since he is a musician. The music box tune in particular uses a sample from Happy H. Christmas by Maniacs of Noise.
The rest of the hidden footage are believed to be simply from scary videos at the time, either reposted on /x/ or from Jojacob's subscriptions.
Trivia[]
As said, this was the very first version of the Suicidemouse.avi video, which would then spawn many remakes. The reason for why Jojacob didn't upload the video on his own channel is likely due to copyright issues with Disney, which he expressed concerns about in the original 4chan thread. The video is not on its original quality due to being recorded from a stream. The piano banging is sometimes claimed to be from Kuwait's EAS alarm from 1929. This is not true, as the EAS system did not exist until 1997. Likewise, the silhouette at the end of the video is sometimes claimed to be from Propagation6 or an alternate version of it, due to it also containing a figure walking through a doorway.
