Is Jeff the Killer based on Jeffrey Dahmer?
No
But why? I like Jeffrey Dahmer better than Jeff the Killer!
Jeffrey Dahmer is a cannibalistic serial killer who was neglected by his parents and often had sexual fantasies in his childhood. He often lured men back to his apartment, where he drugged and mutilated the victims, sometimes engaging in necrophilic acts with their corpses. Jeff the Killer (regardless of which version you look at) was abused in his childhood and became a homicidal serial killer who just went around killing people with nothing but a kitchen knife.
Furthermore, JtK mostly hates his parents while Dahmer loved his father and maintained good contact with him after getting imprisoned for his actions.
The two are not the same. Your argument of preferring Dahmer is weak as just because you prefer something doesn't mean that another thing you're comparing to it is based off of it.
But Dahmer’s my favorite guy anyway
Don't say that-
Don't ever say "I love Jeffrey, he's my favourite" on a site practically full of disturbed children or teens. That's actually weird asf. They're horrible people. I get understanding the case behind the man as many horror writers tend to do with based-on-real-life stories, but don't do the Tumblr talk of "[insert problematic person here] is so cool!".
Also, Jeff and Jeffrey Dahmer have little to no comparison in theory. Jeffrey was a serial killer alongside being a sex offender who would target 15 males between the years of 1978 and 1991. This included committing to other atrocities like necrophilia, cannibalism as well as preserving the parts of the body (the skeleton especially). His family were on the rocks since day 1 of his birth and still were before he committed his first murder in 1978.
Jeff...is nothing like that according to the source given to us. He targets virtually anyone, regardless of gender or age as seen by Homicidal Liu, Nina the Killer and Jane the Killer, he's not described or implied to be committing to the same atrocities as Jeffrey aside from murder and manipulation. And, preserving parts of his victims hasn't been a fact I remember since I first joined the fandom.
Jeff used to be a normal teenager albeit an introvert who had yet to leave his comfort zone properly. He had a stable family who could have been slightly neglectful to their children's woes. Yet, they weren't travelling towns to make ends meet, they had time for him. He had a sibling or siblings who he could play with and grow up around as seen in the story too with Liu. Jeff only turned more psychotic when his family didn't believe he and Liu were getting bullied and his bullies became sociopaths themselves and burnt him alive. From that point, it was downhill from there. Still, his family did try to make the conscious effort to bring him back, it was just heavily subdued by his murderous meltdown.
The two are very much different in appearance, personality, behaviour and criminal motives. They sound the same (mostly because one is a shortened version of the other's name) but that's about it for similarities.
Umm ok I’m just insane I guess
Don't you dare undervalue Crit and Friend's input on your post. You openly admit you liked Jeffrey Dahmer with little to no connection on your question, and did a mediocre job defending your point. And DON'T justify your reasoning with "Umm ok I'm just insane I guess". Your comparison inquiry has been answered more than a few months ago when you asked the same question. No, Jeff the Killer isn't inspired by Jeffrey Dahmer. Numerous people already placed their proof and reasoning, so go look on your other post. Seriously, turn off your phone or computer and reconnect with yourself. No one in their right mind would admire Jeffrey Dahmer unironically.
