I made a character a long time ago, and looking back on it now it has a lot of cliches, a cheesy name and a pretty flawed backstory. I want to make another character, but I'm worried that it's too similar to the previous one and might be interpreted as a rewrite of the previous story.

Should I delete the previous character and make a completely new one or should I just rewrite the previous one?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
